The Milwaukee Bucks were stuck in New Orleans for most of the week due to a rare snowstorm that canceled their game against the Pelicans. They were only able to make it back to Milwaukee to face the Miami Heat just two hours prior to tip-off! However, this unusual situation did not stop them from rolling past the Heat to a 125-96 victory. While the entire Bucks team played their hearts out, Damian Lillard was without a doubt the standout performer of the night.

The Milwaukee guard although initially had earned his first triple-double in a Bucks uniform, didn’t last long though as a rebound was snatched away from him. Nonetheless, he still had 29 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists to show for his stellar performance. Lillard acted like a real leader despite his team arriving in Milwaukee just a couple of hours before tip-off. “As a leader of a team, you got to let the team know off the rip. Like we not doing that we not having excuses, I don’t care about the flight, I don’t care we’ve been in a hotel.” He said.

He further added, “Like you got to take that away from from the team as a leader and let them know like ain’t going to be no excuses tonight we got to go out there and jump on them like we’ve been doing.” Suggesting as a leader of the team he needs to make sure that there are no excuses whatsoever. Well, the team did step up to the task as not only Dame but Giannis and Gary Trent Jr. also played an important role in the victory. This marked Milwaukee’s fifth straight win taking their season record to 24-17.

A remarkable turnaround which was even appreciated by head coach Doc Rivers. Amidst this great form, the Bucks are aiming for a deep playoff run. They are looking to add some more firepower to their roster. According to ESPN’s Time Bontemps and Brian Windhorst have made Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis, and Pat Connaughton all available. This is to make the most of Giannis’ MVP-level form and aim for the title. It will be interesting to see how they plan the rest of their campaign. With that being said, let’s take a look at what the Greek Freak had to say about the unforeseen circumstances.

The Milwaukee Bucks after arriving at the airport on game day had to drive straight to the stadium. While this would be a major concern for a majority of the NBA players, Giannis Antetokounmpo is cut from a totally different cloth. “This is not the toughest conditions that I’ve played basketball,” said the Greek Freak. After dropping 25 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists in the win against Miami.

At the end of the day, we still woke up in a five-star hotel, had breakfast, sat down as a team, talked as a team while we were waiting for the bus. We had a pretty nice bus ride. And we went to our plane, charter plane, private plane, everybody had their own seat.” As Giannis said apart from having to take a flight on game day, there was no reason for his team to be worried. They had top-notch facilities and had nothing to complain about.
