For months, the idea of the Milwaukee Bucks making a major trade has been floating around, with many speculating that a deal could elevate the team. Multiple NBA insiders are now hinting that the Bucks might be preparing for a trade that could change everything. Once interested in Bradley Beal, the Bucks have waited for the opportune moment to land the 3x All-Star.
In 2023, the Suns beat the Bucks to the chase. But how the tables have turned, Phoenix now just wishes someone would take Beal off their hands. Evan Sidery from Forbes was the first to throw out the idea that the Bucks might be looking to trade Khris Middleton. The rumor? Milwaukee wants to bring in Bradley Beal from the Phoenix Suns. And the plot thickens—this potential deal would also see the Miami Heat sending Jimmy Butler to Phoenix.
Well, you might remember that Beal has a no-trade clause. But Beal is reportedly willing to waive his no-trade clause if it means joining the Bucks according to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix. There are a few possible ways to get Butler to Phoenix, and the Suns’ recent trade is just the beginning.

The Suns have reportedly dealt their 2031 unprotected first-round pick to the Utah Jazz in exchange for three future firsts, according to sources who spoke with ESPN. Sounds ridiculous right? But it all might make sense in the end.
The tricky part now is figuring out how to bring Miami into the mix as Brett Siegel reports. According to two sources that spoke with ClutchPoints, one potential deal would see Butler landing in Phoenix, with Milwaukee escaping the second apron by sending Pat Connaughton to the Raptors.
In this scenario, Bruce Brown or Khris Middleton would head to Miami, while Beal and Love would join Milwaukee. Toronto would get Portis and Connaughton, with draft picks heading to Miami and Toronto. It’s a complicated web, but it could change the landscape in a big way.
The question remains which team is going to be the fourth one. A fourth team would step in to facilitate, taking on salary to make everything work. Meanwhile, the Suns have made the first move by acquiring draft capital.
The Suns think ahead, could use draft picks to trade someone who joined them along with Bradley Beal
The Suns have made a move, sending their 2031 first-round pick to the Jazz in exchange for three first-round selections for 2025, 2027, and 2029. However, these picks are the least favorable ones from teams like the Cavaliers, the Timberwolves, and Utah. This trade could be a stepping stone for the Suns to land Jimmy Buckets from Miami, a move that’s been rumored for a while.

So, what’s next for the Suns? They could hold onto those three first-round picks and use them to add some fresh talent on rookie contracts. But, honestly, given the current state of the roster, a move involving Jusuf Nurkic seems more likely.
Nurkic has been a bit of a mixed bag. Sure, he’s great at grabbing rebounds and scoring in the post, but his defense is a big problem for a team that’s already struggling defensively. And with his hefty salary—$18.1 million for 2024-25 and $19.4 million fully guaranteed for 2025-26—moving him won’t be easy.

Luckily, the Suns now have the assets to pull off a trade. Whether the Heat would be open to taking on Nurkic in a Butler deal is still a big question, but Phoenix has some serious options. If they play their cards right, they could boost both their roster and their financial flexibility at the same time.
