Sam Amick, an NBA insider, decoded the viral courtside video clip of LeBron James and Jeanie Buss. The NBA world witnessed various narratives and memes surrounding that event, but Amick broke all of them with a breakthrough update. It was about James’ future with the Los Angeles Lakers. A few weeks ago, a report suggested that the superstar could opt out of the final year of his current deal (2024-25) and sign a new three-year max contract. And to make it work, King James requires a healthy relationship with the Lakers owner.

The 39-year-old, who is playing his 6th season with the Lakers, would look to set the road straight for his glorious exit. Importantly, the superstar would not settle for anything less. Speaking of James’ future and his relationship with Buss, the insider said, “You can’t really figure out what direction it’s gonna ultimately go but in terms of personal dynamics… that moment was significant.”

However, before making that statement, Sam Amick revealed the possible headspace of the two Lakers’ icons. According to him, Jeanie Buss is focused on keeping her promise to the superstar, in terms of running the organization. Regarding connectivity, Amick stated that Buss might not even be aware of Bron’s head space.

While Amick applied a mellow approach to decode Buss’ headspace, he went all-out for LeBron James. He described Bron’s courtside moment with Buss as “pretty shrewd political operating.” And he also claimed that there wasn’t anything wrong with that.

He further highlighted how James would be aiming to know whether the Lakers were willing to do a 3-year deal worth $164 million. Even though he considered the relationship between the duo as amicable, he stressed that James had been strictly professional. Nevertheless, this season’s ending would play a major role.

LA Lakers – Road to 2024 playoffs

At this point, the LA side has to battle it out with three other teams to even qualify for the playoffs. The Lakers and GSW have been fighting for the 9th spot for quite some time. Both teams would require a series of wins to move up the ladder and seal their playoff spot.

Sam Amick also stated that James’ future with the Lakers depends on how the team finishes this season. If they end this season on an underwhelming note, then it could be curtains for the superstar at LA.

Nevertheless, the LA fans can witness the season one game at a time. The Purple and Gold team has an important match tomorrow, which could probably be the teaser for the crucial Play-In tournament game.
