Dallas Mavericks lost to the Memphis Grizzlies even though the latter were without Ja Morant and Marcus Smart got injured. Later, they registered a victory over the Knicks with a narrow margin. They are going to face the Pelicans tonight at the American Airlines Center. Mavericks occupy the sixth position in the Western Conference with 23 wins and 16 losses. And would like to go higher in the division topped by Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder.

But the injury issues have been worrisome for the fans of Mavericks for some time, including that of Luka Doncic. So, will he play against the Pelicans tonight?

Luka Doncic is out against the Pelicans

Doncic will not play in the game against the Pelicans due to his ankle sprain. The 24-year-old was not available against the Knicks due to the same injury and left the game on two occasions against the Memphis Grizzlies. The star has a monster average of 28.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 8.1 assists in his six regular seasons. Dante Exum has been out for almost half a dozen games due to a right plantar fascia sprain.

Josh Green won’t be available due to non-Covid illness. He scored 18 points against the Knicks. Tim Hardaway, Seth Curry, and Jaden Hardy will get increased roles in his absence. Maxi Kleber too won’t be available due to a right small toe dislocation. He did not play since November 8 due to the same injury. Derrick Lively has been put on questionable status for the game due to a left ankle sprain. The rookie missed the last four games and Dwight Powell took over in the starting line-up as a result. On the other hand, the New Orleans Pelicans don’t seem to be worried enough about the injuries.

The Pelicans stand in the seventh position in the conference with 23 wins and 16 losses. They had a resounding victory over the Warriors as they scored a hailstorm of points. Later they lost to Nuggets and would be eager to bounce back. The Pelicans don’t have a long list of injuries like the Mavericks except for Matt Ryan.

Ryan plays in the forward position for the New Orleans Pelicans. He missed 11 games in a row due to elbow soreness and was later diagnosed with a strain layer. Later, he underwent surgery to remove the loose bodies in his elbow and will be available in the next 6-8 weeks.
