The Boston Celtics have wrapped up training camp for the 2024/25 season. Now, Jaylen Brown & Co. are in Abu Dhabi, gearing up for their preseason opener against the Denver Nuggets. Expect a showdown on October 4, with regular season-level intensity. After all, the reigning champions never hold back. They’ll walk into the arena with the mindset of winning their 19th Larry O’Brien. The team enjoyed a light moment as kids joined them for fun, laughter, and challenges on the camp’s final day.
What happens with pro basketball players like Jaylen Brown, Lonnie Walker, or Kristaps Porzingis fail to stop kids from bucketing? Well, that is exactly what the Celtics captain and his boys experienced on the last day of training camp. You might think, “Oh, they’re kids, how hard could it be?” But just to burst your bubble, the young ones are usually the most difficult lot to manage. Surprisingly, even the defending champions couldn’t stop them from taking one bucket after another. What was the score? Well, it remains a secret. Too embarrassed to reveal it seems!
Following the alleged ’embarrassing’ defeat against the visiting guest, JB and Lonnie Walker had a pushup face-off. Well, this challenge might have been the repercussions of the loss. But it was an entertaining and endearing moment as the kids on the court wholeheartedly cheered for the hoopers. To make the task difficult, Celtics shooting guard Derrick White, placed a B-ball on the 2024 Finals MVP’s back. And the cheering elevated as the level of the challenge went a notch higher.

So, while Jaylen Brown kept saying, “Aye!” to the kids and Porzingis tried his ‘best’ to stop them- the final (secret) scoreline was inevitable. As you have already guessed, the last day of camp ended cheerfully. Well, this wholesome interaction with 10-year-olds and 12-year-olds or more will surely channel fresh energy into the Celtics squad.
Meanwhile, JB has etched his name among the stars once again. There seems to be no end to his achievements- he keeps proving why he’s the rightful leader of the C’s.

Did Jaylen Brown deserve the punishment, or was it just a harmless moment blown out of proportion?

Former 49ers QB, Colin Kaepernick added a little foreword for JB’s profile. He praised the SG and called him a “beacon of hope” for his work off-court. “Jaylen isn’t just an athlete; he’s a beacon of hope, showing us that true power lies in lifting others up. I stand with him, inspired by the path he’s paving for us all,” wrote Kaepernick.
Over the summer break, Jaylen Brown started his new non-profit, Boston XChange. Through this new venture, the 27YO aims to “build generational wealth and foster cultural innovation in underserved and underrepresented communities.”
Since his $304 million contract extension with the Celtics in 2023, JB has been aiming for the stars. He has a lot of plans for the community out there, making him a larger-than-life figure for the underserved and underprivileged ones. A leader on the court and a leader off the same, Jaylen Brown’s commitments never fail to amuse us.
