The global sports league giant NBA is where it is today because a part of its success belongs to the governing body. It is currently headed by the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. Moreover, the 61-year-old’s service is slated to extend further, as per ESPN. Silver took to the NBA office on February 1, 2014, and will complete his 10-year anniversary in a few days.
Amid that, a recent report revealed that Silver had extended his contract and it will take him through the end of the current decade, reported Adrian Wojnarowski.

During his tenure, the league underwent a lot of change and it only strengthened Silver’s respect among the players and franchises. He brought peace between players and franchises with his new collective bargaining deal. And it is expected to stay intact up until 2029, reported ESPN.
Moreover, he isn’t just popular within the league, but also among the fans. Silver was influential in bringing in two new additions to the long regular season, the Play-in Tournament and the In-Season Tournament. Both turned out to be major successes, as they created a lot of additional viewership amid the monotonous regular season games.
This isn’t the first time where the conversation about Silver’s contract has popped out. It came in after his recent contract extension in 2018. However, during that time, it was expected that Silver would no longer travel with the league because of a rumor. Several reports suggested that he was a top contender to succeed Disney CEO, Bob Iger.
