Tom Brady dwarfed by Anthony Davis—does size really matter in sports greatness?

Who would have thought that we would ever see Tom Brady vlogging his life and sharing it with the rest of the world? But here we are in 2024, and the NFL legend just dropped his first-ever vlog on YouTube covering his trip to the Paris Olympics with his daughter Vivian. Sure enough, the video was bound to have some exciting moments and one involving Lakers star Anthony Davis, which led to a hilarious interaction between Tom and Vivian particularly caught our attention.

Hoping to meet the Team USA athletes, the father-daughter duo headed to the Team USA House in Paris. Obviously, he’s Tom Brady, so, many superstars from the men’s and women’s team greeted the NFL legend and his daughter. When Brady dabbed up 6’10 forward Anthony Davis, Vivian was a little taken aback by the height difference between the two. In an innocent reaction, she said to her father, “You look small.”

And Tom hilariously replied, “Oh Thanks!” Even AD couldn’t contain his laughter! However, while the jokes are always lighthearted, let’s really put things into perspective, shall we?

By no means is Tom Brady a “small” individual as he stands at 6’4. But being in a room full of the best hoopers, who are also some of the tallest athletes in the world, they are bound to tower over most people. Brady might be thanking his stars that he didn’t run into Victor Wembanyama while he was with his daughter because the 7’4 Frenchman even makes AD look small at times!

Apart from the encounter with Anthony Davis, the NFL legend also met with LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White. However, there was another viral moment amongst all of this. Brady, seemingly, took a lighthearted jab at Joel Embiid when he embraced the Sixer’s presence and said, “What you doing out here?” Considering the flak The Process received from the local crowd and his initial poor run of form, Brady’s words sounded like a taunt. He even introduced his daughter to WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu.

Tom Brady’s emotional message to American athletes

As great as Tom Brady is, he never got a chance to represent his nation in the Olympics. That’s because football is not a part of the event. And now that he is enjoying his retirement, he finally got a chance to show his daughter what the Olympics experience is all about. In his vlog, he was seen attending several events where the American athletes were set to take the stage.

Their in-Olympics tour included sitting alongside Ed Bastian, the CEO of Delta Air Lines, to watch a tennis match. Their next checkpoint was beach volleyball where the father-daughter duo met record-breaking women’s basketball coach, Dawn Staley. After which, they headed to the swimming events, and then landed at Simone Biles’ gymnastics competition, where they took a picture with her and Suni Lee.
