Tweaker madness. That’s the only way to describe LiAngelo Ball‘s rap drop. So, he used to be a full-time basketball player not too long ago. But now it looks like Gelo has to put ‘part-time’ before his profession. This is because his music is calling and he is paying attention. After suffering from injuries and fans wondering if the 26-year-old will ever make it to the NBA, LaVar Ball’s son has signed something massive.

But wait! This isn’t about basketball or the NBA. LiAngelo Ball’s return to the sport seems oddly unlikely. However, ESPN’s Shams Charania has reported that: “[LiAngelo Ball] has signed a deal with Def James and Universal Music Group, a representative from his label Born2Ball Music Group says. Sources said the deal is worth as much as $13 million, with $8 million guaranteed, and gives Ball full ownership of music and his own record label.”

This is exactly why I said that Gelo should now add the ‘part-time’ before basketball player to his resume. Well, it’s no secret that Tweaker has become a sensation in the world music. The NBA world is hyped, vibing to the 2000s-like beats. The Cleveland Cavaliers locker room is jamming, KAT is making reel edits with the same, and Paul George has joined the party to commend LiAngelo Ball.

PG and the basketball-verse join hands to shout out LiAngelo Ball’s newfound rapper fame

“The middle child has risen,” Philly’s superstar Paul George commented on LiAngelo Ball’s Tweaker on Podcast P. He went on to say: “I think it’s the legit banger. It’s in every locker room, it’s in basketball, it’s in football. It’s made it captions on the Gram.” PG13 gave the 26-year-old hoopster-turned-rapper a shout-out and commended his father LaVar Ball for raising “three amazing sons doing big things.”

You know fans need a little something to cling to, and they picked PG’s LaVar stance. Instagram comment sections buzzed with messages like, “Lavar officially 3 for 3,” highlighting the pivotal role LiAngelo Ball’s father played in shaping and reshaping the basketball careers of his three sons. While Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball made it to the NBA, Gelo has yet to make it to the league. Nonetheless, his new ventures are putting him under the right spotlight.

“He was smart to make a 2000s rewind bc millennials have been kicking and screaming for that,” someone noted. This reminds me of Draymond Green and Baron Davis discussing Tweaker on a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show. BD had commented “You gonna be like, ‘Yo, I remember this song when I was growing up.’ That’s how it gets you.” The vibe of the track is surely a bit like Lil Jon or something like that. And it immediately grabs your attention!

Someone wrote: “The Ball brothers are killin it rn.” Indeed. Lonzo Ball is back on the court and with full force. After spending almost three years away from the league, the Chicago Bulls star is averaging 6.2 points per game. Yes, he’s yet to catch up, and he’s doing it already. Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornet’s superstar LaMelo Ball is averaging a whopping 29.4 ppg, he’s having one of the best seasons so far. And then there’s Gelo, who’s sent shockwaves in the music and NBA world with his song. All the brothers are doing their “thang.”

Meanwhile, someone compared LaVar Ball to Kris Jenner. “LaVar Jenner.” It’s a clever take on LaVar Ball to Kris Jenner, the mastermind behind the Kardashian empire. It highlights LaVar’s similar role in managing and spotlighting his sons’ careers, from Lonzo and LaMelo’s NBA success to LiAngelo’s rap stardom. Like Jenner, he’s seen as a proud, hands-on parent who knows how to turn family into a brand.

So, LiAngelo Ball’s rise to fame through music has taken the NBA world in a chokehold. And in the wake of the moment, his father, LaVar is getting credit for pushing his boys for greatness. In the family affair, PG is also rejoicing as he’s vibing to Tweaker just like everyone else.
