There is a certain intrigue around the Los Angeles Lakers this season. Their future hinges on the outcome of several uncertainties. Would they choose to draft Bronny James (which they ended up doing) was a long-standing question to seemingly give LeBron James another reason to stay. Or for the youngster’s impressive defensive and shooting abilities? Can JJ Redick, a novice head coach, make an unprecedented impact and lead the Purple and Gold to vintage glory?

As fans, the excitement and anticipation to watch it unfold is bubbling. And as the season gets ever closer, Dwight Howard wants more than just a taste; he wants the entire experience. The former NBA center took to X to forward his plea either to Bron or another production. He wrote, “They should do a docuseries on the Lakers this year! JJ becomes the coach, LeBron & Bronny the first father-son duo to play with each other or against. That would be popcorn.”

When you think about sports documentaries/docuseries, there’s nothing quite like The Last Dance. The success it saw likely led to so many other sports documentaries: Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls, and their double three-peat. With The Last Dance already documenting the career of one player in the GOAT debate, the possibility of the other player having a documentary surrounding his team would, in fact, be popcorn. Especially considering all the talk surrounding LeBron and the Lakers this season.

That’s why the three-time Defensive Player of The Year isn’t alone in his desires. Maybe it wouldn’t be a documentary, but every passionate fan wants a little bit more this season. After all, there have never been so many storylines attached to a single season – JJ Redick being one of them: a first-time coach looking to utilize his intellectual prowess and impact on the Lakers. Will he be able to better Darvin Ham’s 90-47 record over 2 seasons? And then there’s Bronny James.

Multiple questions hang over his head, too. There was an air of anticipation that would have only been cleared on draft night. Based on the outcome, LeBron and his eldest son could have either faced one another or fought for the same badge. Well, it’s the latter, and it’s been a dream in the making for the King, who said in April,  “Obviously, I’ve thought about [sharing the floor with Bronny] in the past. But at the end of the day, the kid has to do what he wants to do.”

Not once has a father been able to say they played with their son(s) in the NBA. And many father-son duos (and trios) have graced the league – Dell Curry & Seth and Steph Curry, Mychal Thompson & Klay Thompson, Bill Walton & Luke Walton, just to name a few. Out of all of them, LeBron & Bronny James will be the first. It’s a moment that the James family will undoubtedly document in their proximity. You’ll be happy to know that the franchise has already started celebrating the father-son union on X after posting a heartwarming picture after drafting the 19-year-old.

It was a compilation of Bronny looking up at the sky and his dad with a broad smile. In the background is a picture of LeBron, then a young dad, holding his son on the court many years ago! That said, now that both LeBron and Bronny have achieved part of their dream, the 19-year-old will undoubtedly work toward silencing his critics. Yes, he may not have had the most storied college career, but he declared for the draft despite that. And now, he’s set to make history.

Even before the draft, analysts were comparing him to his younger brother, saying, “[Bryce is] a better prospect than Bronny” and “LeBron’s more naturally talented son appears to be Bryce.” This may be true, and he may be shorter than Bryce, but there’s no denying that Bronny James will do all he can to perform to the best of his abilities. Who knows? This could be LeBron’s last season in the NBA, and wouldn’t his son want to do everything to make it a memorable one?

That said, Dwight Howard – among probably the entire Lakers fanbase – wants the gossip, the conversations, and everything that comes attached to the LA team this season. The chances are slim, but the legend’s plea may be heard.

While Dwight Howard backs the Lakers, the LA side sealed the deal with Bronny after an impressive few weeks!

Over the past year, Dwight Howard has been playing in Taiwan but hasn’t stopped trying to find his way back to the league. His approach involves publicly urging the Purple and Gold to sign him again. He has followed the franchise throughout the season and cheered for them during their playoff series against the Denver Nuggets. After the loss, though, Howard expressed how the Lakers “should’ve never split that team up,” referring to the 2020 core and suggesting they could have gone on to achieve a three-peat.

Apart from finding his way back to the NBA, Howard has also tried to use reverse psychology and recruit NBA players to play in Taiwan. His profound attempts have had handsome success as four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins did shift to Taiwan and even won the Finals MVP honors for the Taiwan Beer Leopards. He also managed to rope Quin Cook, a former Laker and Warriors point guard, into the Taiwanese league. However, coming back to the NBA, the Lakers have clearly played the long-term game here, don’t you think?

That’s because it would be insulting to disregard Bronny prowess on the court. The youngster, after his cardiac arrest, worked really hard on his return. Yes, his USC stint was nothing too glamorous, but he went on to impress at the Draft Combine after making 19-25 threes in the star drill, followed by a training session with his dad earlier this week. Ever-famous trainer Chris Brickley posted snippets from the session and admitted that Bronny was “ready to bring value to an NBA Team!”

Additionally, just a while before the Lakers got the job done, Anthony Davis expressed his admiration for his star teammate’s son. “I wouldn’t be mad at the team if we took him if he was still available at [No.] 55 and see where it goes from there,” AD claimed after he was left thoroughly impressed with the 19-year-old’s ability “to break down the defense.” So, there you have it. While millions of people have criticized Bronny for the most obvious reasons, he has his group of supporters, too!
