The latest news that has been buzzing the NBA world is the announcement of the All-Star starters. The list came in as a shocker to many, as the Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry missed out on the list for the first time since 2013. Apart from that, fans felt that there were a lot of other snubs as well, and one of them was Jalen Brunson.

The New York Knicks guard took over the hoops community with his domination in this season, and fans expected him to conquer the East backcourt. However, it was Damian Lillard, who stole the spot. Reacting to the list, Brunson delivered a humble response following the blow-out win against the Denver Nuggets. He said, “Congrats to Damian Lillard. That’s it. … Dame is deserving.”

Brunson has always been at the brink of criticism often. Recently, the WNBA legend, Becky Hammon, took a jab at him, and revealed that she doesn’t consider him to be a top tier player. She said, “You gotta have a dude, you gotta have a 1A dude and they’re [Knicks] missing that at the end of the day,” during an ESPN show.

Apart from that, Brunson also struggled with a lack of foul calls whenever he reaches the paint. Highlighting this issue, Knicks HC Tom Thibodeau fumed over the officials at a post game press conference. He said, “What this guy is going through is ridiculous. Ridiculous… It’s plain and simple, they’re fouls and there’s no other way to say it.”

Despite all these obstacles, Brunson has managed to shoulder his team into the top-4 teams of the East. He also managed to churn his career best of 50 points this season and also maintained an average of 26. 5 points this season.

The Knicks began the new year with some tough wins against the teams like Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers. And after their blow out win against Wizards, fans took to social media, dropping Brunson’s impeccable record in the last nine games.

He had averaged 28 points 8 assists per game. Along with that, fans also demanded that Brunson should be an All-Star starter over Damian Lillard, who led the back court voting in the East.

Unfortunately, the Knicks star couldn’t make it the mix, despite tackling all the hurdles on his way this season. Notably, in tonight’s game, the Knicks dominated the defending champions with a 122-84 win.
