Some mysteries in life are better left unsolved. That’s probably what Heat fans are thinking, as the murky trail left by the Jimmy Butler drama sees no end to it. While the coin flipped over, his Heat future remains dubiously balanced; the deeper you go into the chaos, the worse it looks. And after a national reporter’s latest revelation, it is becoming much clearer why the Heat used the words, “conduct detrimental to the team.”

Jake Fischer dropped the bomb earlier today about Jimmy Butler’s questionable moves that led to the 7-game suspension. When you ghost your team, is there really any other option left for a franchise? And that’s what Jimmy did.

“Among Butler’s transgressions, according to league sources, have been multiple instances of Butler skipping out on morning shootarounds altogether and insisting on private flights separate from Miami’s team charter,” Fischer revealed on Marc Stein’s Substack.

According to the same report, Jimmy’s longtime buddy and NBA player, Kyle Lowry, was also growing frustrated with the All-Star’s on-court antics during his 76ers stint. “Lowry, who remains as close away from the court as anyone to Butler, gradually grew fatigued by his teammate’s headstrong tendencies on the floor. Currently, in his second season with his hometown Philadelphia 76ers, Lowry declined to comment last week when an interview was requested,” Fischer clarified.

Butler will be cleared off the suspension before the Heat’s game vs 2023 NBA Finals opponent, the Denver Nuggets on Jan 17. Will he play again? The recent jabs from Jimmy aimed at Pat Riley don’t exactly smoothen things either. So the solution? Probably a move away and a former NBA star knows exactly where that should be.

DeMarcus Cousins belives Jimmy Butler is the best fit alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker

Jimmy Butler might be searching for his joy in basketball outside of Miami but so far he isn’t having the best of luck finding a suitor. The Suns are the only team heavily linked with a trade for the 35-year-old but with Bradley Beal in the mix, the situation isn’t a favorable one. The Suns guard is yet to waive the no trade clause in his mammoth contract, hindering the much discussed move. But former NBA star DeMarcus Cousins thinks Butler is the answer to the Suns’ troubles.

Is Jimmy Butler's behavior a sign of leadership or just plain selfishness hurting the Heat?

“No disrespect to Beal. Like, it’s just not a good fit with what you got going on with D Book and Kevin Durant,” Boogie said on a recent episode of Fanduel TV’s Run It Back show.

However, recent showings might paint a different picture. Since the Phoenix franchise made the decision of using Beal off the bench, the Suns’ luck and his form have both improved. Since coming off the bench, Beal has been averaging 17.4 points over the last 5 game, including two 25-point performances. Cousins though insisted on his earlier point.

“Beal never made sense. Even and it got it got a little better with them adding the point guard in the mix, but it still just doesn’t make sense. You add a guy like Jimmy Butler that can, you know, play both sides of the ball, give you 15 to 20 points on a nightly basis, and guard the best player. That’s a better fit next to a Kevin Durant and Devin Booker,” he further elaborated.

Not sure if the Suns front office is listening to him. But even if they did there’s not much they could do without the help of a third party who can consume Beal’s salary. So bottom line? Jimmy Butler is staying in Miami. For how long? That’s a puzzle waiting to be solved.
