Ugly isn’t the word to describe Jimmy Butler’s tense stance with the Miami Heat. Upon his ability to return from suspension, the disgruntled guard showed up for practice. However, upon finding out he won’t be the starting option going forward, Butler stormed out. It leads to yet another suspension. This time the franchise decided to levy an indefinite suspension that will last at least five games. The decision does benefit the Heat financially.
However, their culture to compete and remain in the race is greater than a grudge match with Jimmy Butler.
It’s been well known that the best solution to the saga is the Heat finding a suitable trade. At first, they held their price high since the 35-year-old still has the stripes of being a ravishing postseason performer. But it seems the Miami Heat’s urgency to offload him as soon as possible has led to them being more flexible than before.

In an update presented by Brian Windhorst, the organization is willing to cut its price for Jimmy Butler. “From the sources I’ve been talking to for the last, really 48 hours but definitely tonight; the Heat’s price [for Jimmy Butler] has dropped. They are willing to do more than they were when this all started last month. The Heat are trying to get this done,” the insider revealed.

Another part of the puzzle Windy confirmed is Butler’s preference. He wants the Suns. However, making the trade isn’t as easy as it seems. For any move to facilitate, Bradley Beal’s lofty $250 million contract. Over the next three years, he is owed $160 million. And while there could be teams that may be open to absorbing it, Beal has a no-trade clause.
And so far, one route has been closed.

The Suns need to find a solution for Jimmy Butler quick
In all honesty, there aren’t many teams in a position to take on a contract as large as Beal’s. Furthermore, the no-trade right complicates matters even more. Not only do the Suns need to work out the financials due to the Heat blocking a straight exchange, but they need to find the right team for their veteran guard to waive his right.

Until now, the Milwaukee Bucks looked to be a part of the conversation. However, recent reports signal the contrary is true. Another popular destination was the Chicago Bulls. It would give Bradley Beal a chance to unite with his college coach Billy Donovan. But as it stands, the three-time All-Star isn’t interested.
According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, Bradley Beal has confirmed his unwillingness to waive the no-trade clause for the Bulls. With him wanting to be on a team that is contending, the Windy City’s 19-27 record isn’t appealing to the Suns guard. Hence, if there is a trade in the future, the Suns have to find a team that’s either competing or is not a “cold-weather” city.
This limits the options left for the Suns. And what makes it worse is that there is a concrete need to act quickly. The Heat are in no position to play favors for Jimmy Butler at this point. Given they are willing to drop their asking price, it opens up the lanes for several other teams to make a run at the veteran guard.

If unsuccessful, the Suns may have to wait another year to sign Butler. But even before that happens, offloading Bradley Beal is a requirement that won’t change. How do you think this ends? Let us know your views in the comments below.
