Kevin Durant is one of the most polarizing figures in the modern NBA. While his otherworldly basketball abilities are undeniable, his constant need to change teams has made him a controversial figure. Many fans have also disregarded the two NBA titles he won with the Golden State Warriors between 2016 to 2019. Fans go to extreme lengths just to discredit Durant’s incredible playing career.

In a recent exchange on X (formerly Twitter), a user by the name of Kevin McBride asked, “Is KD on your Mount Rushmore of Kevin’s? Actually better question. What is your Mount Rushmore of people named Kevin? The Kevin’s of Twitter NEED to know.” To which an X user by the name of Eddie Gonzalez replied by writing, “Hmmm. Great question. Kevin bacon. Kevin McAllister. Kevin federline. Kevin Nash. Buddy just off the list ngl.”

Kevin Durant, known for actively engaging in social media discussions, took notice of the debate, particularly Gonzalez’s response. However, KD didn’t take the debate seriously and hilariously responded by writing, “No disrespect but federline over me is nasty.”

For those unfamiliar with Kevin Federline, he is a dancer, actor, and DJ. However, he came to mainstream media’s attention because of his relationship with pop star Brittany Spears. Federline tied the knot with Brittany Spears in October 2004. But after just two years of marriage, Spears filed for divorce in November 2006, citing irreconcilable differences.

This recent interaction with a fan highlights the negative sentiment surrounding Durant’s legacy. However, with the Phoenix Suns performing well in recent weeks, can he win the 2024 NBA title with the Suns and redeem his legacy?
