As Team USA continue with their exhibition games, the squad recently landed in London for their next game. Following their dominant win over the Serbians and Nikola Jokic, Team USA will play South Sudan on Saturday. So far, the squad has been putting up great numbers apart from the game against Australia where the Americans were quite close to an upset. Nevertheless, LeBron James and company continue to cruise through these exhibition games. On the other hand, Bam Adebayo got a loving surprise from the squad as soon as they arrived in London.
The center from South Beach just turned 27 and Steph Curry and LeBron James were all for it. The two wished the big man a happy birthday, as Bam couldn’t hold but take it to Instagram. His recent Instagram story shows James and Curry singing the Happy Birthday song the loudest out of all. The story captioned, “Had My Young Fellas @kingjames And @stephencurry30 Singing Front Row” was probably the highlight of his 27th so far.

It’s going to be a long day for Adebayo, considering that he’ll have to attend practice and hopefully he gets the time to celebrate his day with the squad. However, Bam is the first on the list to have his birthday celebrated in the middle of the tour. Anthony Edwards on the other hand is the next member who’ll probably enjoy the birthday chants right before the Quarter-Final round next month. It seems as if it has become a tradition to celebrate a player’s birthday during the Olympic tour.

Back in 2008, Team USA celebrated Kobe Bryant’s birthday with James being the lead singer. Almost 16 years later, LeBron hasn’t changed a bit when it comes to celebrating a teammate’s birthday. It’s tough to say whether ANT’s birthday will be as delightful. Team USA is the favorite to win it all and right before their first probable Quarter-Final game, ANT will turn 23. He’s the youngest on the team and will stay the youngest even after his birthday. However, Adebayo has yet to celebrate a full-fledged party.
Bam Adebayo has a lot to look forward to
At this point, his birthday may be the silence before the storm. The exhibition games are just warm-ups for teams and the important matchups are yet to tip-off. Now, Bam has a day’s worth of time to enjoy his birthday before the atmosphere turns tense as the Olympic week approaches. While the squad is quite star-studded it isn’t an excuse to go light against any team. The French as well as the Canadians are to look out for in Paris.

Whereas the big men, including Adebayo, Embiid, and AD, might struggle in the pain because of the tough calls. It isn’t easy to get whistles in international basketball. Adebayo was part of the 2021 national team that bagged gold in Tokyo, as he is an experienced candidate heading into his second Olympic tour. Bam is a dominant center and a solid rim protector, however, he’s not necessarily a shooter, but his game compensates for the heavy scoring part on the defensive end and by grabbing boards. It will be a sight to see Bam and AD in the paint along with Steph and Edwards in the perimeter.
