Winning his first championship and Finals MVP trophy in year 8, Jaylen Brown has come a long way. Brown and Tatum have been the core of the Celtics for more than half a decade. Boston has struggled to win it all despite being the top title contender in the league. However, the squad managed to bring in the franchise’s 18th championship banner, as many might call this the start of a dynasty. On the other hand, Brown was the man in the spotlight. As confetti rained down in celebration, Jaylen Brown stood tall after the euphoria, his journey from rookie promise to Finals hero now etched in Celtics folklore.

While JT led the team in the closeout game, Brown’s contribution throughout the Finals series was immaculate. JB averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5 assists while shooting 44% from the field. Following the win, Brown took to Instagram to share his best moments from the celebration. His post, captioned, “I’m just here for the vibes“, drew the attention of various other players. Tatum and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. both commented, “MVP!!!”, whereas other basketball personalities/influencers including Tristan Jass, and Lethal Shooter also praised Brown’s achievements, “Congrats fam”, “Proud of you brother”.

Brown did come after Tatum in conversations regarding some of the best duos in the NBA. However, this season, JB was more consistent and put up great numbers complementing his teammate’s game on the floor.  Not only was he the Finals MVP, but also the ECF MVP. Brown deserves all the praise after a dominant playoff performance.

Following their impressive postseason run, Tatum and Brown had the best postseason run of their career, to a point where there were favorable odds for a back-to-back title. The Celtics are indeed the favorites to repeat next year and all eyes will be on the duo. Many considered the Celtics to have gone through significantly less of a competition to reach the Finals compared to the Mavs. Regardless, the Celtics did prove themselves to be the best team in the league throughout the season. But can Brown and company repeat the same next year?

The last time a team won back-to-back titles was in 2018 when the KD-lead Warriors defeated the Cavs for the second straight year in the Finals. In the last decade, there hasn’t been a team apart from the Dubs to have repeated a title. Given Boston’s current run, we can expect them to have a tougher path to the Finals next year. Going up against Miami in the first round, the Celtics played the Heat without the captain of their ship, Jimmy Butler.

In the Conference Finals, after securing home-court advantage, the Pacers were without Haliburton who held the team’s flow. These aspects do affect the course of the series not only in terms of how great the players are but also the momentum that the team holds. Teams like the Knicks, the Pacers, the Heat, and the Bucks were all worthy of giving the Celtics a tough time. Still, if all teams were to stay healthy, the Celtics would have been the favorites, given their potential. In the end, they will have a fair chance to repeat next year.

It will be interesting to see how things play out for Boston from this point. Do you think the Celtics are worthy of a dynasty? Let us know in the comments.
