Ayesha Curry's cookbook success—Does she set the bar for balancing family and career?

“It feels like I birthed quintuplets!” When Ayesha Curry released her debut cookbook The Seasoned Life, 8 years ago, she made an unusual analogy while seeing her passion for cooking come to life. “I worked so hard on my little baby and now it’s being born and everyone gets to enjoy it,” she remarked. Well, Steph’s better half has come a long way since then, both personally and professionally. Not only did the power couple recently welcome their 4th child, but Ayesha also celebrated a huge landmark in her career!

Ayesha re-shared a snippet by her brand Sweet July, on her Instagram stories, while holding her cookbook, The Full Plate. Occasion? 4th anniversary since its release! “I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since we released my 2nd cookbook baby, The Full Plate,” she said while proceeding to reveal how she felt, “This one was extra special for me because I got to work on it with my sister Maria.”

Released during a time when the entire world was dealing with a pandemic and were forced to cook on their own, Ayesha’s 2nd cookbook was a blessing for everyone confined in their homes. With recipes that can be made and served within 30 minutes, The Full Plate garnered immense praise as Ayesha defined its recipes, “Easy and all super delicious that you and your family can enjoy.”

Ayesha’s cookbooks have not only changed the fans’ life, its effects also reflect in the Curry household! The hooper, back in the day, was often spotted in the kitchen thanks to his wife’s presence on social media. “My book is for the fellas too! I made it as easy as possible so if you’ve never cooked anything a day in your life the book is for you too,” she captioned the picture, praising his rising ‘kitchen confidence’.

Once when discussing her hub’s cooking skills, Ayesha dropped a funny story, in retrospect, of course. “The first time he cooked for me was many, many years ago when he was in college and it was disgusting,” she revealed while describing the “salty cream of wheat, a burnt bagel, burnt eggs, and a garnish of Gushers.”

While she’s always been passionate about anything cooking, where did Ayesha get the idea of turning her skill into a career?

How Ayesha Curry’s cultural background influenced her culinary career

After being a mother of 4 and a successful entrepreneur, Ayesha understands exactly what it takes to excel in chaos. And she has learned a lot of it from her childhood experiences. With both her parents working extra hours to make ends meet, she cherished sharing a meal with them as a kid. “It was at the kitchen table where we had our best (and worst) conversations,” she said. Then, she got hooked on cooking shows, and a cooking party on her 13th birthday paved the way for her future as a Chef, “My friends and I cooked the day away! That moment made a big impact on me. I didn’t know I could be doing that for a living.”

As she grew older, Ayesha Curry combined her cooking skills with diverse backgrounds to generate a unique perspective. “My cultural upbringing is everything when it comes to my food. My mom’s Chinese and Jamaican, my dad’s Polish and black… I love that I can be kind of like a poster child for cultures fusing together and coming together and a poster child of family and togetherness because food really is love.”

In fact, Ayesha’s go-to meal, which she would cook at home, is oxtail stew with rice and dumplings and an escovitch fish. A fusion of cultures and delicacy right there! Sure enough, she has turned her passion into a lucrative business with her multiple successful cookbooks, running a Michelin-star restaurant International Smoke, starring in the biggest cooking shows in America, and running her own YouTube channel. It’s great to see that her passion is alive while she continues to triumph as a mother!
