Stephen Curry and Co. won their 4th title in 2022. Coming off a Championship season, fans had high expectations for the Warriors last season. Golden State secured the 6th seed in the Western Conference and eliminated the young Sacramento Kings squad in round 1 in a 7-game thriller. The Warriors, however, could not get past the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers in the semifinals and faced a stinging playoff loss to their long-time rival.

The Golden State Warriors are back in full strength this season, and their owner, Joe Lacob, has set the ultimate goal for Stephen Curry and Co.

Joe Lacob has high expectations for the Warriors

Joe Lacob became the owner of the Golden State Warriors in 2010. He has found a lot of success as the Warriors owner. Golden State has won 4 Championships and become one of the Greatest dynasties in NBA history since Lacob took charge of the franchise. The Warriors owner set the ultimate goal for Stephen Curry and Co. this season. ?Let’s beat him to five!? Those are some high expectations for the Warriors as they got eliminated by King James in last season?s playoffs.

 

Stephen Curry and Co. lost 4-2 in the Western Semifinals to their arch-nemesis, King James and the Lakers. Chef Curry did all he could in that series, averaging 26.7 points, 7.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds. But his impressive performance was no match to the dominance of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The King averaged 24.7 points and 8.8 rebounds. And his co-star AD followed suit with 21.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks.

Can Stephen Curry and Co. surpass LeBron James?

The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers have significantly improved their roster this season. The Warriors have added Point God Chris Paul to their squad, giving them one more elite court general who can facilitate the offense in tough situations. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will also start the season fully healthy, giving the Warriors a chance to win their 5th Championship.

The Los Angeles Lakers have added multiple solid role players to play alongside their two superstars, LeBron and AD. The addition of players like Gabe Vincent, Christian Wood, and Jaxson Hayes improves the Lakers squad significantly. Apart from adding new players, Rob Pelinka rewarded the Lakers’ young core after their last season?s impressive performance. The Lakers re-signed Austin Reaves, D?Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Jarred Vanderbilt, on multi-year contracts.

With both teams improving and the level of competition in the league rising significantly, it will be interesting to see if Stephen Curry and Co. can live up to Joe Lacob?s high expectations.
