It has been hours since James Harden made the explosive ‘liar’ accusations against Philadelphia 76ers president, Daryl Morey. Despite sharing a good relationship, it looks like everything is over between Morey and Harden. Naturally, this complete fiasco has the whole NBA world talking and a person close to Harden recently gave his thoughts. It is none other than Patrick Beverley.

The 76ers star has played under Morey in the past and it looks like he isn’t a huge fan of the executive as well. Talking on the Pat Bev Pod podcast, Beverly gave him two cents.

Patrick Beverley comes to the rescue of James Harden

Harden has been the center of attention since the start of the NBA off-season. There were reports that suggested he was on his way out. However, some reports also claimed that the 2018 MVP might extend his contract.

It all ended due to Daryl Morey’s reluctance to give the 33-year-old a long-term contract. Since then, Harden has openly admitted to wanting to play for the Los Angeles Clippers and has also called Morey a ‘liar‘.

Hours after the 10-time NBA All-Star’s shocking comments, former Houston Rockets teammate Patrick Beverley gave his two cents. “If I agree on a handshake and I was supposed to get my bag, hell yeah I would be waiting on my bag”, said Beverly.

He also had some words for what is going on for Daryl Morey. “On Daryl’s behalf, his job is to get the best product for as cheap as possible”, said Beverly on the Pat Bev Podcast.

Interestingly, the 3-time All-Defensive star joined the 76ers from the Chicago Bulls with aspirations to play with Harden. He had mentioned how he wants his former teammate to stay during a press conference. However, Beverly had made it clear the final decision was completely up to James Harden.

The Clippers were very interested in Harden a few months ago

The Los Angeles Clippers can create a super team. Harden will join a team comprises names like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook.

A month before this whole ‘liar’ fiasco, an insider reported, “the Clippers were desperate “; and this is a last-gasp season, and the craziest idea in the NBA makes total sense”.

Despite interest from both camps, Daryl Morey’s asking price posed a problem. Now that Harden looks to have broken all relationships with the 76ers president, a deal might go through.
