The Draymond Green situation has consumed the NBA world. The Warriors Center received an indefinite suspension from the league for hitting Suns Center Jusuf Nurkic in the head. Draymond was ejected from the game after the officials reviewed the play and deemed it unnecessary and excessive contact. Green’s suspension is something that no one has ever seen before.

Due to Draymond’s suspension being “indefinite” there is no set timeline for when he will return to action. However, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski shone some light on Draymond Green’s probable NBA return.

When will Draymond Green return from suspension?

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that we might not see Draymond Green back on the court until the beginning of next year. That means he will serve a minimum of 9-game suspension, considering his last suspension for putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock was 5 games. If Green meets the benchmark put in front of him by the league, Woj believes he might make his NBA return on January 2nd against the Orlando Magic. That is the best-case scenario for Draymond, as the timeline for his return could be even longer.

Certainly, Draymond will not suit up for any game for the remainder of this year. He will miss the Christmas Day matchup against the defending Champions, Denver Nuggets. Even if Draymond gets suspended for a minimum of 9 games, it will be a huge blow for the Warriors.

Draymond is responsible for being the defensive anchor for the team and a lot of offense for Stephen Curry runs through the veteran Center. Green is averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists this season, and the Warriors might struggle even more in his absence.

Can the Warriors save their season?

Stephen Curry and Co. lost their 14th game of the season yesterday. They got dominated by the LA Clippers after James Harden went off for 28 points and 15 assists. But there was a glimmer of hope for the Warriors despite the devastating loss. Klay Thompson finally got going for the first time this season and played one of his best games this year. He scored 30 points and went 8 of 12 from beyond the arc. With Draymond Green missing from the lineup due to his suspension, the Warriors put up a valiant effort against the in-form Clippers.

The Warriors have fallen to the 11th spot in the Western Conference standings, and they need a miracle to get back into Championship contention. If the Warriors want to stay afloat in Draymond’s absence, Klay needs to play consistently like he played in the last game. Stephen Curry and Chris Paul need to step up their game and get more easy shots for their teammates. Do you believe the Warriors can bounce back from their recent struggles?
