It’s Thanksgiving time. There are many things Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods can be thankful for, and some past Minnesota memories are one of those things for Woods. It’s the place that made KAT a man from a young rookie. Also, the same place where Jordyn and Towns found their true connection. But, now that the couple have moved out of the city, this year was very different. It gave her the perfect opportunity to pen a grateful message, which was bound to make Timberwolves fans emotional.
Sharing a plate full of mouthwatering food on her Instagram story, Woods wrote, “It’s crazy that last thanksgiving we were in Minnesota and I cooked dinner for everyone for the first time (smiling face with tear emoji).” The emoji perfectly captured her mixed emotions. It was clear that the 27-year-old was going through a flush of emotions and reminiscing about the days in Minnesota, as the move to New York had been a sudden change that the KAT and Woods weren’t prepared for.
However, this year’s Thanksgiving brought its own charm. “This year, I am a proud guest at my Mom’s 🤣 sorry for making you do all the work, Mom, but I needed a break and a proper kitchen,” she added. With her story, Woods stirred emotions among Minnesota fans who gathered in KAT’s post to express their gratitude to the Dominican for his incredible stint with the Timberwolves, and some of them desperately wanted him to return.

Fans flooded Karl-Anthony Towns’ post with Minnesota comments on Thanksgiving
Like many, Karl-Anthony Towns also shared what he was grateful for on this special day, posting a series of pictures in his Knicks jersey and expressing his feelings with a simple “Thankful” caption. Woods was quick to comment, “Thankful for you, my love ❤️” on the post, and then came his followers’ turn.
“Thankful for your 9 years in Minnesota ❤️,” one fan wrote. KAT began his journey in the league with the Timberwolves and has been their reliable offensive center for nine seasons. In his 573 games with the franchise, the 7-footer has averaged an impressive 22.9 points and 10.8 rebounds. Given his dedication, it’s only fitting for the Minnesota fanbase to thank him for his years of service.
Whereas a fan requested KAT, “Please come back to Minnesota Karl.” Becoming emotionally attached to a player who has been with a team for nearly a decade is nothing new. So, the fan’s urge seems fair. Last season, the Minnesota roster appeared solid, and just as the team’s chemistry seemed to be strengthening, the unexpected decision emerged to trade him.
Another follower echoed the same sentiment by writing, “Come back to Minnesota.” Well, it wasn’t up to KAT. If it had been, he would have surely chosen to stay with the fanbase that holds so much love for him.

“Should’ve always stayed in MN 😔, Happy Thanksgiving 🦃,” an emotional fan wrote. The news was as shocking to the fans as it was to KAT. Many had believed the 29-year-old would retire with the Timberwolves, so, for some, it’s still hard to accept. But trades are part of the business, and it’s something that must be accepted.

Many fans expressed how much they missed KAT. “MN misses you more than you know,” one of the comments read. Despite the abrupt change, the 4-time All-Star adjusted quickly to his new team and seems to hold no ill will toward his former franchise.
For now, he seems happy with the Knicks, and the team considers him an asset. So, it is unlikely that they will trade him back to the Timberwolves. However, the future is unpredictable. Perhaps he could retire with the Timberwolves after all.
