The New York Knicks recently concluded their second last NBA regular season game by going up against the Brooklyn Nets. While the eyes of onlookers were mostly focused on Jalen Brunson, Cam Thomas, and other offensive players from both teams, one player who might have been getting more attention than usual was Nets power forward Mikal Bridges. The player continued playing alongside his roster as rumors are currently circulating that he may be looking to get himself traded to another team during the offseason. Fans were reminded of this fact once again during the conclusion of the recent game.
The Knicks ended up securing a close win against their rivals by a score of 111-107. In the aftermath of the same, various of their players, including Jalen Brunson, Rick Brunson, OG Anunoby, Donte DiVincenzo, and Josh Hart, were seen gathering around Mikal Bridges and engaging him in conversation. It should be important to note that the New York Knicks are being considered as one of the prospective teams to whom Bridges may end up taking his talents.

Similarly to the above-mentioned individual, other people also highlighted their awareness of the 27-year-old’s possible transfer to the third seeding team on the Eastern Conference Points chart. One of them couldn’t help but exclaim after seeing how Knicks roster was making the Nets player feel welcome into their fold as if he was a member of their own gang.

While they may not have been present at Madison Square Garden, the commentors who probably watched the game live noticed the elated feeling with which Bridges was around Brunson and co. A couple of them highlighted that being with the New York team makes the player happier than with the team with whom he is currently playing his first full season.
Happiest he looked all night 😭

The general feeling in the comments section carried a positive vibe. However, a social media user was worried that it wouldn’t take long for Bridges to get denounced by fans of his current franchise over his actions.

All in all, fans seemed to be aware that Bridges may allegedly make an entry into the Knicks next season and weren’t too sceptical about it.
Is a Mikal Bridges-Julius Randle trade on the table?

Mikal Bridges has appeared in over 81 games for the Brooklyn Nets this season, averaging 19.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Despite his memorable stats, however, many NBA aspirants have put forward the suggestion that the player would be better off taking his talents to a higher seeding roster, most particularly the New York Knicks. The Nets, in exchange, would be receiving one of their rival’s highest average scorers. NBA reporter Greg Swartz laid some foundation on this particular topic in an article for the Bleacher Report. According to him, the last time that the Knicks and the Nets agreed to a trade was over 41 years ago. However, current circumstances could bring that streak to an end.
“A starting five of Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo, Bridges, Anunoby and Isiah Hartenstein/Mitchell Robinson with Josh Hart as a sixth man looks like the NBA’s best defensive group on paper with enough offense to win a title” Swartz wrote in his article.
Julius Randle, who has been out from the Knicks main lineup since late January, had himself put out an impressive performance before his exit. In 46 games, he had managed to accumulate an average score of 24 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5 assists to his name. With the Nets needing a good go-to scorer on their side, the 29 year old could manage to fill any gap left by Bridges.
