The Golden State Warriors started their season strong, but things soon got worse. With Andrew Wiggins struggling to find his rhythm, Stephen Curry getting injured, and Draymond Green getting a five-game suspension, the Warriors struggled for a win. As a result, they lost six straight games before securing a victory against the Houston Rockets. Their most recent loss came against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who swept the Warriors in a 130-123 overtime victory.
In the matchup against the OKC Thunder, Curry scored 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in his first match after a knee injury. Despite a good performance, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander discarded the Curry hype in his viral Instagram post of clips solely showing him outplaying Curry. The former Warrior superstar, Andre Iguodala, addressed this disrespect while seemingly issuing a warning in the process.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shone during their OKC’s win against the Golden State with a 40-point performance. He also posted 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks to go with it. He then took to Instagram to diss Stephen Curry by only posting clips of him outscoring or blocking the Chef on the court.
Although the post also had a few snapshots of his recent fits, among other things, it was clear that he dedicated this post to Curry. He captioned the post, “I was feeling like e-40 in the Bay, so i had to go dumbbbbb.”

This post caught the attention of the ex-Warriors star Andre Iguodala. In his Point Forward podcast, Iggy said, “He [Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] posted ‘I felt like E40 in the bay because I was going dumb’ and he had all his clips. I love the competitive spirit, but he just might have woke up a sleeping giant.”
He further added, “So I’m interested to see the next five games for the Warriors. I’m gonna pay close attention to that.”.

While Shai has already made his move, it remains to be seen how Steph will answer him back. With Wiggins finding his rhythm, the return of their defensive stalwart Draymond, a healthy Stephen Curry, and the leadership of Chris Paul guiding the second unit, the Warriors have regained their momentum, as signaled by their recent 121-116 win against the Rockets.
