Surprisingly, he is not only proving his leadership skills but also displaying early signs of greatness. This has led to fans drawing parallels between him and the Chicago Bulls legend, Michael Jordan. The Philadelphia 76ers guard, Patrick Beverley weighed in on this very matter to hype up his former teammate.

Beverley joined the former Washington Wizards guard, Gilbert Arenas on the season finale of his podcast. This is where he addressed the similarities between His Airness and Ant-Man.

Michael Jordan was the whole thing, not just only skill. Michael’s able to cultivate a younger generation with his smile…..he was just a likeable person. You see Anthony Edwards man, you see this man on an interview, you just can’t help but to like him. He has the smile, he has the baby face….he’s a monster” said Beverley. He added “I think his numbers in the playoffs, compared to Mike’s and a lot of the top greats that’s played in the playoffs 21-22 years old, he’s up there with the best of them so.

Edwards averages an impressive 21.8 PPG for his career, also earning an All-Star nod in the 2022-23 NBA season. However, when the playoffs come around, the 22-year-old elevates his game to a different level. He averages a whopping 28.1 PPG in 5 playoff games so far.

He carried this form to the FIBA World Cup where he is leading the American contingent in scoring with 16.3 PPG. In fact, his FIBA World Cup run also witnessed a moment where it like he took a page right out of Jordan’s book.
