It is a testing time in Miami. The Jimmy Butler drama doesn’t seem to have an end to it and controversies are only spreading rapidly. His 7-game suspension that caused a $2.3 million loss, will come to an end next week. But will he be a part of Miami? Even if he stays then for how long?

Looking beyond the city’s rage-filled pushback, some reasoning can provide a sense of conclusion. According to Bobby Marks, the $52 million left on the table is too good to reject for Jimmy. And he has reasons to back that claim. “I think there is a strong likelihood that he’s on this roster when we get past February 6th, then he picks up that 52 (million),” the NBA insider told on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “I know it’s been reported that he’s gonna decline that option and become a free agent, but when you have $52 million on the table, you have to have a home to go to.”

Despite the ongoing tensions between the two parties, the insider believes that Jimmy and the Heat are still reliant on each other. However, a bigger question was unanswered.

“And I think the big question is when the suspension is lifted, where is his mindset as far as where he is? Because that’s gonna play a big role as far as the next couple weeks. And if his mindset isn’t there and then we kind of revert back to what we’ve had, they could just suspend him again,” Marks added. Another suspension could only make things worse keeping the current situation in mind. But rebuilding an amicable relationship again with Pat Riley and the organization he allegedly tried to sink looks far-fetched in reality.

Heat legend goes off on Jimmy Butler and Pat Riley vitriol

Pat Riley made himself very clear last summer that there won’t be a new contract for a player who does more talking off the court than on it. Jimmy Butler didn’t take it too kindly and now we have a mess in Miami. But his folly in all this is waging war against Riles, as far as a former soldier of Pat’s army is concerned.

“You don’t disrespect authority, and that’s what Jimmy Butler has been doing,” Tim Hardaway Sr. said on the same radio show. And I’d tell you this, Pat Riley, this boat is gonna sail on top of the water as long as Pat Riley there. “Jimmy Butler is trying to, sink that ship. That ship is not gonna sink…Alright? But, you know, it’s all about? Authority saying no to somebody, and these guys can’t take rejection,” the Heat legend further added. He blamed the situation on Butler’s accountability issues.

Not only Jimmy Butler, but even his supporters in this conundrum were in Hardaway’s iron sight. “You’ve been hating on the Miami Heat since Ray Allen left Boston to go to Miami Heat,” the 13-season NBA vet said about Paul Pierce who supported Butler. Jimmy’s constant digs at Riley also didn’t do him any favor. The mini recess in the battle will come next week and his reception into the locker room can be the decisive factor in how the Jimmy Butler chapter in Miami unfolds.
