The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics are aligned to meet at the TD Garden for an electric game 5. The home team enters the game with a 3-1 advantage, giving them a chance to end it in front of the fans. On the other hand, Miami aims to come back home with company, bringing the C’s along with them for Game 6. However, given the condition of their roster for the entirety of the season, it seems like the latest update on Jaime Jaquez Jr. can force them to pack a white flag for Wednesday night.

The Heat already have Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier out of their roster. Now, they face another void as Jaime becomes the latest addition to Miami Heat’s injury report. He is deemed out of tonight’s contest due to his right hip flexor strain.

The Heat, if they are not already playing against the odds, will now enter the game with a sight on their backs. Despite early anticipations of having Butler on the court in the latter stages of the series, there seems to be no such news. Moreover, the team, in hopes of justifying proper rest, showcased little to no urgency in bringing Jaime Jaquez Jr. back.

Moreover, Terry Rozier sees a similar fate due to injuries. Despite being a solid scoring option for the Heat, he has remained out of the court since April 7 because of neck spasms. And just like Butler, he has no timetable for a return yet.

With that, things will be a little more easy for the Boston Celtics tonight on the court. However, a particular instance from the 2nd quarter of the Game 4 win potentially evens the floor for the two teams.

Boston Celtics injury report before facing Jaime Jaquez Jr.’s team

After being available for the Celtics throughout the season, Kristaps Porzingis was seen limping near halftime. It seemed like he had aggravated a recently incurred injury, and he also raised his hand to be subbed immediately off the court. Then, he went to the locker room while limping in pain.

Now, the Celtics have ruled out their star big man for Game 6, after inspections revealed that KP suffered a right soleus (calf muscle) strain. He is expected to miss the entire first round, with chances of missing “a minimum of several games.” For context, Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a similar injury at the beginning of April. He has yet to set foot in a playoff game this season.

Porzingis has averaged nearly 20 points, 7 rebounds, and a little short of 2 blocks per game this season. He has worked as a walking mismatch for the Celtics in his first year with the team. Even though the Celtics have already played 25 games without him in this campaign, it is safe to say that they will surely miss his 51.6% shooting touch from the floor.
