The new rising star of the Lakers that is becoming a new favorite is Austin Reaves. Not only did he have a fantastic season with the Lakers, he even made it to the national squad. Through sheer passion and dedication, Reaves has managed to have an incredible year. In his own words, “To say the least, it’s been a very amazing year for myself. A lot of good things have happened.” 

Reaves believes his basketball career is not just a result of hard work but a reflection of his dedication to the sport. He attributes his success to hard work, resilience, and a refusal to take shortcuts. Reaves’ dedication was evident in his performance on the court, contributing 12 points to Team USA’s 99-72 victory against New Zealand. He even believes that after going through so many hardships he finally got rewarded for his efforts.

During Team USA’s match against New Zealand, a fan moment became viral. The fan was holding a sign saying, “Austin Reaves > LeBron James.”. When the media asked Reaves about him becoming the best player in the world, he had a lot to say. Reaves said, “I think it was the sign that solidified it all. You know me over LeBron, valid statement, huh?” He further added by saying, “It was funny, yeah, just because me and LeBron have such a good relationship. Obviously he is the greatest player ever, but hey I appreciate the sign.”

Since joining the LA Lakers as an undrafted free agent, Austin Reaves has managed to build a bond with LeBron James. At the age of just 25, he has been selected into the national and is getting praise from his friend, LeBron James. Reaves also during an interview spoke very highly of James. He said, ” In my personal opinion, even being a Kobe Bryant guy, I think [James] is the greatest player to ever play. You could make an argument, but I think how good he is at all facets of the game. I don’t think anybody’s ever been that good at everything. So I think he’s the greatest player ever.”
