The No. 2 overall pick of the 2017 NBA draft had been out of hooping action for two and a half years. Lonzo Ball was finally back to show what he’s made of. After enduring three surgeries and countless hours in rehab, the Bulls star finally shared in September, “I’ve pretty much got a brand-new knee… I’m confident I’ll be ready for the first game.” But guess what? His knee is getting better with time while taking precautions. But it’s his wrist this time! To make matters worse, the hoopster is without a timeline for his return.

It’s reassuring that Lonzo Ball’s knee, which had sidelined him for over 2 seasons, isn’t causing problems now. According to Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune, Ball was seen without a brace on his right wrist on Monday and is set to return to dribbling the ball soon.

But an MRI confirmed his wrist injury is a sprain—between Grades 1 and 2—which has thankfully spared him from another surgery. But Coach Billy Donovan emphasized that Lonzo Ball’s recovery will be gradual and not fast-paced. A relapse is the last thing they’d want. The often-injured point guard has already missed 6 consecutive games and will likely need a few weeks to regain full strength.

The Bulls kicked off this NBA season with a 4-6 record, which aligns with what many had anticipated. They aren’t among the league’s worst, but after parting ways with DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso over the summer, Chicago isn’t expected to make a playoff push.

Yet another setback for Lonzo Ball has fans panicking, AGAIN

One fan reminded everyone of the infamous narrative. “This man is cursed.” First dealing with his knee injuries. Ball stepped back onto the court, making history as the first pro athlete to do so after a knee cartilage transplant, marking an unprecedented comeback. But now he’s out of action again. Wretched to see someone make a historic comeback only to get derailed from their path once again.

Have an interesting take?

Another netizen tweeted “Bro can’t catch a break“. If a 1006-day hiatus wasn’t enough, Lonzo again has to sit out- what does this mean for his career? Will the Bulls keep waiting or do any other franchises want him? It’s sad to see him going from one of the top prospects in 2017 to being a mainstay on injury reports.

An individual was devastated, as they expressed their thought, by tweeting, “Bro??? *broken heart* *broken heart* *broken heart*“. Although he has only played in 3 games this season, he was averaging 4.7 points, and 3.7 assists in 15.7 minutes per game. Honestly, not bad for anyone returning from ‘the point of no return’. Which makes this announcement even more miserable. “If I play on it right now while it’s still swollen, it could get to a Grade 3. That would require surgery.” Another surgery? No, thanks. Ball should rest up,  recover and soothe this person’s heart.

Another user chimed in with, “Damn, hopefully he recovers and gets back to where he left off”. We really hope the same as well. Though he wasn’t in the regular rotation, managing his minutes could have helped him regain his old form. For now, though, he remains just a shadow of who he once was.

One more user tweeted what all of us are thinking “It’s over gang”. But is it, though? There are no problems with his knee and he can start dribbling again, so we believe it is not the end for Lonzo Ball. In his 3rd match for the Bulls, when he felt discomfort in his wrist he thought, ‘”I felt it, but my adrenaline was going,“. This show that he is a fighter and it’s not over yet. Hopefully, he can come back stronger from this setback, because if he did it once and he can surely do it again.
