The Detroit Pistons’ Malik Beasley is a man who knows how fast life can come at you when you’re riding high. Now back to 2016. A 20-year injured ‘boy’ picked by the Denver Nuggets in the 2016 NBA Draft. 3 and a half a season later, he is in the Minnesota Timberwolves fold. However, right after re-signing with them in November, he was suspended for 12 games by the T-Wolves. The reason? Convicted on a firearms charge, for which he had to spend 78 days in jail! He has been in the news for reasons unwanted, but did it affect his image, and wealth then?
He was on his best days as a player, averaging 20.5 points a game. While Beasley has not reached the heights of his 2020 self since then, he is still a solid player for the Pistons in 2025, after spending one year each with the Jazz, Lakers, and Bucks. Frequent movements, right? So that may make you wonder, how well has he done financially in his NBA career? Let’s find out.

However, his most lucrative payday came at the Minnesota Timberwolves. He signed a whopping four-year deal worth $60 million, with the fourth year as a team option. In comparison, the Nuggets only paid him $6 million in the 4 years he spent with them. Makes you wonder if he was underpaid at the Nuggets or overpaid in Minnesota.
Minnesota traded him to the Utah Jazz in 2022. He spent a year with them moving to the Lakers. All in all, Beasley has made $59,948,525 from his NBA career spanning 10 years. Malik Beasley’s net worth, as per the latest available data from 2023, is $12 million. Wait, this is because there are no new figures quoted for his net worth. The Pistons’ number 5 is more than that, and it is expected to go up owing to his massive salary and endorsements.

Upon entering the NBA, Malik signed a million-dollar deal with sports apparel giant Nike. He was one of the athletes who was tasked with promoting LeBron James‘ signature line of basketball shoes. The deal was announced by his father. He quoted, “Its Official! My son @Mbeasy5 just inked a MILLION DOLLAR deal with the Nike Fam! Very proud of Team MB5 and ASM!!”
But in 2022, he would ditch Nike in favor of Converse. Malik endorsed their All-Star BB Prototype CX shoes, even wearing them on-court.
Given his tendency to keep things low-key, he didn’t disclose this to the public. The following year, though, in April 2023, Beasley switched allegiances. He joined the Chinese sportswear brand, Xtep, as the face of their “Battle” line of shoes. They most recently released the Malik Beasley XTEP Hard Fighter 3.0 in September 2024.

To make a long story short, it’s quite admirable how Malik Beasley could own up to his past transgressions. He even started a charity called the MB25 Foundation to give back to the community after he made it big in the NBA. Despite getting shot down figuratively while he was living his best life, Malik’s story shows that you can always bounce back!
