Moses Moody was barely 7 when Stephen Curry debuted in the NBA in 2009. So, we can assume the youngster has grown up watching the greatest shooter in basketball at play. Luckily enough, Moody has been teammates with the legendary Splash Bro for the last four years. Undoubtedly, the 22-year-old has learned a lot. It also wouldn’t be a surprise to know that there must’ve been moments when Moses looked at Curry and thought: “I want to be like him.”
Ex-NBA star Lou Williams was curious to know what it’s like being on the same team with someone like Stephen Curry. So, he directly asked Moody: “What are some of the intangibles that you’ve been able to pick up just by being teammates with someone like that?”
Speaking on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back, Moses Moody shared his experience around the Baby-Faced Assassin. FYI, both Curry and Moody are guards for the Golden State Warriors. “I think it’s been great to come into the league as a rookie. And to have Steph being there from day one,” expressed the 22YO. “You know, you can be in different situations and, you know, you’re human, you’re naturally going to kind of compare yourself. And what you want, the ultimate goal is to become Steph Curry.“

"The ultimate goal is to become Steph Curry… it pushes me now to think, 'I can't let Steph work harder than me, he's already who he is.' …he's a good role model to equate success to."@mosesmoody 🤝 @StephenCurry30

But to have Stephen Curry by his side since day one, it’s pushed Moses Moody to go the extra mile.
“I can’t let Steph work harder than me because he’s already who he is. And it lets me know that the better you get, the harder you got to work, the harder you got the opportunity to work because you got to play more and this and that. So it’s been a really good thing to have for me. My whole career is just a good role model to equate success,” concluded Moody.
Interestingly, Stephen Curry was a part of Moses Moody’s ‘Welcome to the NBA’ moment. Surprised? Well, you better not be!

Stephen Curry gave Moses Moody a Welcome to remember
“My welcome to the league moment, probably before the season started, guarding Steph in training camp,” narrated Moses Moody. “And it’s different than, seeing him on TV, when he hits you with that same move. That was my welcome to the league moment.”
Well, guarding Stephen Curry could be one hell of an experience. Matthew Dellavedova once ended up in the hospital from sheer exhaustion after guarding Steph in the NBA Finals. Moody can count himself lucky he avoided that level of challenge!
For anyone on defensive duties, you’d think you’re doing enough to stop the 4x NBA champ. But nothing is ever enough to resist the icon. He will score. No matter what.
“[You’re] thinking you’re playing good defense because he’s not going past you, but it’s like, he ain’t trying to. He’s trying to get space for the shot,” Moody narrated.

Meanwhile, the Chef recorded his 2024/25 season’s best score on Tuesday against the Dallas Mavericks. A solid 37-point game from Stephen Curry handed Luka Doncic & Co. the bitter pill of defeat. He also came face-to-face with his former Splash Bro Klay, who was in his new garb for the first time in 13 years. But keeping aside the camaraderie, Steph served the Mavs their loss on a platter.
Typical Curry!
