After a disappointing season, Kevin Durant finds himself in yet another trade rumor. The Slim Reaper always seems to be caught up in such talks regardless of it being relevant. This time, and for a while, Durant is rumored to join the Rockets. But why the team who couldn’t qualify for the Play-In? Besides, Houston is a young squad with a lot of potential. Durant’s presence on the roster would be beneficial for the team, but definitely not for him. However, the rumors started to fly around after the 35-year-old worked out with Jabari Smith Jr.
Ever since he joined the Warriors following his OKC stint, Durant has been criticized for switching teams. He played for the Nets for a while after winning two championships and is now looking to get his third with the Suns. Looking at the Suns and their roster, a few changes and consistent performances from their stars will make them serious contenders. It is unlikely that KD will leave them all of a sudden.
Amid these rumors, Durant, who is at the Team USA camp, fired shots at the media for such stories. “It bothers me that people lie like that and it bothers me that the audience eats up lies… But I get sad when people buy into lies or just make sh*t.”, the veteran told Yahoo Sports.

Well, Durant certainly isn’t going anywhere this summer. The reason why the Rockets have been the rumored destination for him is because of Ime Udoka. Udoka worked with KD while he played for the Nets. The story gets more interesting as, according to Brian Windhort, one of the members of Udoka’s coaching staff is one of the closest players to KD.
The Suns are trying their best to make things work among the big three. So far, they haven’t been successful. But then again, there is hope for improvement. The first-round sweep was alarming for the franchise even though the Wolves came in as a much stronger team. KD was the only hope for the Suns as he played 75 games in the regular season which is the most games he’s played since his MVP season. Not only that, but he’s been putting up great numbers while shooting quite efficiently. But the Suns need a serious reform within their core.
Kevin Durant and company need hustlers
KD, Booker, and Beal were pretty dominant on the offensive end. Though as efficient as their shots were, their defense was not up to the mark. The Wolves took advantage of their weak defense, intercepting passes, blocking plays, and dominating in transition. It is safe to say that the Suns need to prioritize role players on defensive aspects, while they have Booker and KD taking care of business scoring the ball. They can add players like Pat Bev who is available in the free-agent market.
