What could have become a historic night turned into a horror show! LeBron James was chasing history. This time, the 4x NBA Champ could’ve reached a spot that’s a far-fetched dream for everyone else in the league. The first person to cross the 50,000 points! Unfortunately, Bron couldn’t do it. He not only missed the milestone by one point but also left the Crypto.com Arena in stone-cold silence after a nasty fall.
No, there’s nothing to worry! The 40-year-old picked himself up after the scary fall and went up and running. But there’s a backstory behind this fall. Stepping into the 4th quarter, the Lakers held a 12-point lead, and the superstar needed 6 points to reach the 50k mark. The 4x champ quickly dropped 5 points and kept the fans waiting for the golden bucket, with 7 minutes remaining on the clock.
Cakewalk, right? Except it wasn’t. LeBron James brought everyone to the edge of the seat. At one point, drama broke out. The clock was ticking and he wasn’t getting anywhere closer to the rim. With 33 seconds remaining on the clock, Luka Doncic had the opportunity to create magic. A classic finish: Luka lobs one to Bron, and he reaches the top of the hill BUT the Slovenian guard loses the ball.

Clippers guard, Kris Dunn, stole it and ran for a transition flush. Guess what happened? In classic Bron fashion—chased him down and blocked the shot. This is where the superstar scared everyone. After blocking the shot, he awkwardly landed on the floor, splitting his legs.

Fans holding their breath for the 50K milestone had a mini heart attack—but luckily, LeBron popped right back up like nothing happened. Just a reminder: King James is the oldest player in the league. Just saying.
Now, you might be thinking, “Wait, there were still 30 seconds left—why didn’t he just score?”
Yeah, Bron could’ve sealed it right then and there. But that? That’s a whole other drama.

LeBron James leaves the LA crowd on a cliffhanger
Hollywood scriptwriters can rip off a lesson or two from tonight’s game. It seemed like the superstar had scored 49,999 points effortlessly but struggled to get that one point. Whenever the ball reached Bron’s hands, there was a sudden buzz in the crowd. He will end up either missing the shot or passing it to someone.
So, after he blocked Kris Dunn’s layup, the crowd was pumped up, expecting the Akron Hammer to seal the deal. The Clippers had possession of the ball trailing by 5 points. The home team could have simply let Kawhi Leonard & Co. slide a bucket and take the last possession of the game.

Instead, it turned into a rebound battle between the two teams, as the Clippers collected two offensive rebounds, draining the seconds on the clock. In the end, they couldn’t make a single bucket and headed home with a 102-108 loss. James, on the other end, stood there helplessly.
So, the superstar has no option other than to score that golden bucket in the next game. Next up, the Lakers face the Pelicans on Tuesday. Hopefully, he doesn’t keep the fans waiting and scores in the opening minute. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
