Recently, Stephen Curry‘s remarks about considering himself the greatest point guard of all time stirred a massive debate. Upon doing so, he reportedly received a text from Michael Jordan regarding his take on the debate. “Magic Johnson is easily the best point guard of all time,” he wrote in the message. The six-time champion justified his statement, mentioning how the Los Angeles Lakers legend invented the triple-double and had one more ring than the Warriors talisman.

Jordan’s logic did not sit straight with the former Warrior Gilbert Arenas, whose question caused the debate to begin. The 3-time All-Star used the example of LeBron James, the arch-rival of Stephen, to point out the flaws in Black Cat’s belief. Highlighting that LeBron often led his teams in assists, Gilbert said, “He has to be the best point guard of all time”.

“Coming to the NBA, he was Magic Johnson with Jordan-like jumping ability,” he added to further prove how the numbers often do not reveal the entire story. He gave his flowers to the Lakers star while contradicting MJ’s comments. This now begs a question.
