In the discussion of the best versions of NBA players, Kyrie Irving is probably one of the top picks in the basketball community. This year was supposed to be the same, but an unfortunate injury against the Kings ensured we aren’t getting a recap of last season. The distress in the NBA world was palpable since the scenes of Kyrie limping out with pain written all over his face emerged from the American Airlines Center. The concerns came true after the announcement earlier today that confirmed Irving’s season was over. As the prayers for the Mavs star poured in, Luka Doncic also sent a message to Batman from his Robin.
Taking to social media, the now Lakers star shared a picture of himself with Kyrie, where the Slovenian is resting Kyrie’s head on his chest, almost as if hugging him. “You will come back stronger mi hermano! ❤️” the caption read. If you didn’t know, “mi hermano” means “my brother” in Spanish. The heartwarming Instagram story certainly brings back memories of the duo’s exploits last season. But those days are now permanently behind us and moving forward is the only way for Dallas and Kyrie.
After Kyrie’s injury appeared serious, the anticipation was that he would be sidelined for an extended period. Chris Haynes then confirmed the news, stating, “Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.”

Following Doncic’s trade, the squad had already weakened. To make matters worse, Anthony Davis, brought in to replace him, landed on the injury list after just one game. But Kyrie was still carrying the heavy responsibilities for Dallas. And now, with the 32-year-old gone for the season, the Mavericks will have no strong presence. But that’s not the end of their miseries.
After Kyrie Irving’s injury Mavericks face another blow leaving their future in doubt
The veteran guard’s absence will put the Mavericks’ position in the league for this season in doubt. They were already struggling to find rhythm, and now it doesn’t seem like there are many hopes left for the Mavs. Before the Mavericks could process Kyrie Irving’s injury, they were hit with another update from Chris Haynes.
Turns out, there’s another player the team will have to miss for a while as well. “Dallas Mavericks will be without Jaden Hardy for a period of time after he sustained an ankle sprain last night,” the insider stated.

What’s your perspective on:
Can the Mavericks survive without Kyrie Irving, or is their season already doomed?
Have an interesting take?
Hardy sustained the injury after Kyrie on Monday and left the court with no signs of returning. So far, the 22-year-old guard has appeared in 48 games for the franchise off the bench, averaging 8.0 points per game. Now, with his injury, the Mavs will face further concern. Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II were already on the injury report, and these two additions could likely cause the team to fall apart ending their chances this season.

There are already suggestions that the Mavericks shouldn’t rush Davis into returning from his left adductor strain, as there’s nothing left for this season. Do you agree? Share your thoughts with us!
