However, now that Luka is in LA, he looks to go all-in when starting the next chapter of his NBA journey. To top it off, he is going forward with quite a bit of ‘lady luck’ alongside him.

Luka Doncic recently re-uploaded an Instagram story initially put out by his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes. The same featured her and the couple’s 1-year-old daughter, Gabriela, with their back to the camera and looking towards the basketball court at the Crypto.com Arena. Both mother and daughter had donned Lakers’ colors, with “Doncic 77” being highlighted at the back. Anamaria wrote a caption alongside the picture that read “Najin 77”, which translates to “Ours 77”. Could there be anything more precious than that?

Luka’s fiancée and daughter were not the only members of his family who were there. The Slovenian’s father, Saša Dončić, and mother, Mirjam Poterbin, were also present to see their son’s debut alongside LeBron James and Co. If that wasn’t enough, even Luka’s former teammate and Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki was there to cheer him on!

Having so many loved ones at his side would have been what motivated the 5x NBA All-Star to drop 14 points in his Lakers debut. The score was quite below his usual average. However, it is important to remember that the player has been out of practice. After all, he had not played another game since Christmas Day, when he sustained a calf strain.

This is not the first time that Anamaria Goltes has turned up to the NBA star’s games with custom gear. In the limited times she posts on Instagram, Goltes highlights herself attending the games whilst rocking the 77 jerseys. When she could not attend, Anamaria represented Luka by getting herself and the couple’s 3 dogs donning blue-and-white uniforms. Now, as she held Gabriela in her arms, the colors were different, but the support was still there.

Luka Doncic and Anamaria Goltes have been together since 2016 and have known each other since their early days in Croatia. She accompanied the 25-year-old when he shifted to Dallas to play for the Mavericks. In a Cosmopolitan SI interview, Goltes highlighted how a new place and a new culture prompted her to develop a new way of thinking.

Anamaria had to reportedly find new local grocery stores, pick a gym, and make new friends. After a few years, she was confident enough to say, “Dallas is a lot like Europe. I love Dallas. It reminds me of home.” Since the Texas city was the only home in the US the couple had known, transitioning to LA would have been heartbreaking. It was a sentiment that Anamaria shared with the NBA star.

Luka Doncic being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis was a scenario not many saw coming. Even the Slovenian himself considered himself safe from a shift. After all, former teammate Chandler Parsons once revealed that Luka was in the process of purchasing a $15 million home in Dallas a week before the trade announcement. The same was later confirmed by Luka’s business manager, Lara Beth Seager. She highlighted that her client was on the hunt since “he expected to spend his career in Dallas”. Despite the unforeseen circumstances, the 25-year-old player took the change in his stride. On top of that, he had his fiancée to support him.

A few days after the trade, Anamaria Goltes shared a few stories on Instagram. She highlighted Luka Doncic’s post, which carried his official farewell statement in her first story. Luka touched base on the beginnings of his NBA journey and highlighted how he thought the Mavericks team would be his home for the duration of his NBA career. He thanked everyone from the Mavericks community, including the fans. The heartfelt message compelled Anamaria Goltes to write “Thank You”, with a blue heart emoji, on the next story.
