Luka and Jokic's chemistry is undeniable—should the Mavs make a move to bring Jokic to Dallas?

European basketball fans are having a blast as Goran Dragic’s Night of the Dragon event brought together the best players in the world. Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic have teamed up to play in this charity event as fans on the internet are simply loving it. Of course, coming off an MVP-level season, there have been fans wanting a Doncic and Jokic duo. The Joker just won his third MVP title whereas Luka came up short of his first.

Regardless, fans on Twitter have been excited to explore the opportunity to watch the two play together. While Luka and Jokic go together to play in Goran’s final game, it would be interesting to see if this ever becomes a reality. One of the fans on Twitter wanted Nico Harrison, the general manager of the Mavericks to “Make the trade” that would land Jokic in Dallas. Not only that but the fans also loved the chemistry between the two.

At the end of the day, if this trade ever becomes a reality, it would pretty much form one of the greatest superteams in history. With Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, the Joker, and Luka Doncic, the Mavs will be an unstoppable force in the West. While there may be certain fans who would want Doncic to play for Denver, former Maverick and NBA Legend, Dirk Nowitzki recently revealed that he would want this duo to play in Dallas.

Well, the Luka and Jokic duo won’t be in action on the NBA hardwood anytime soon. The two are the best players of their respective franchises and neither of them would even think about risking losing their best player. But still, it would be great to see the two team up in the future. As of now, Luka and Jokic are in the middle of their breakout seasons. They do have a long way to go which only increases the chances of this particular trade.

Nevertheless, fans did not hesitate to call out the Mavs to make the trade happen.

Luka and Jokic's chemistry is undeniable—should the Mavs make a move to bring Jokic to Dallas?

Have an interesting take?

Jokic’s competitiveness is almost invisible when it comes to any game other than the playoffs. Of course, his determination and skills pay off, but the Serbian makes it look too easy on the court. On the other hand, Jokic loves having fun with his teammates, as he hilariously poured his refreshment on Doncic during a timeout. This particular fan on Twitter called out the Mavericks, mentioning ” best duos in NBA history sitting right there”.

Sadly, the Mavericks can’t facilitate a trade involving Jokic unless they put Thompson and Irving on the table. Besides, asking for a three-time MVP is not a joke. Another fan added that Jokic hit Luka right after pouring his drink on him. And later he hit him, The funniest duo”. It is safe to say that fans will always anticipate this duo for quite a while.

Another fan termed Doncic a “Future Nugget”, opposing the hypothetical trade that would bring Jokic to Dallas. Even this would be a tough transaction, as it’ll involve guys like Murray, Aaron Gordon, and MPJ in the conversation. Not to mention, these players make up the core of the Nuggets. Being two of the best teams in the West, a Luka and Jokic trade won’t become a reality for a good few years.

Yet another fan reminded Twitter that “These two are incredible”, referring to the European duo. Now, we’ve seen Doncic get along with Irving quite well, considering both to be dominant scorers. If Luka were to team up with Jokic, fans could expect similar chemistry between the two, or even better. It will be interesting to see if either of the franchises plans on giving up their best player in the future.
