The Dallas Mavericks seem to have gotten off on the right foot at the start of this season. After winning their season-opener against the San Antonio Spurs, the Mavericks just logged their second victory in a row. Kyrie Irving has his teammate Luka Doncic to thank as he helped carry him in the win over his former team.
The Brooklyn Nets may have a slim roster with one former All-Star, but the team still has some bright spots. Those bright spots did not seem to matter when Doncic and the Mavericks cruised past the Brooklyn Nets.

Following up a triple-double performance in his last game, Luka Doncic may have topped it off in his game against the Nets in the second game of the season. And by the looks of it, the Slovenian seems to have a purpose this year.
The Dallas Mavericks won the game 125-120 against the Brooklyn Nets. And a lot of the credit goes to none other than Luka Doncic. Doncic went off against the Nets, scoring 49 points in 36 minutes of gameplay.
Doncic also had 10 rebounds and 7 assists, only three assists shy of another triple-double. The four-time All-Star had an amazing night shooting from the long-range, sinking nine of the 14 shots from beyond the arc.
He also made the most from his trips to the line, sinking eight of the 10 free throws. While Kyrie Irving had an off night, scoring 17 points and going 6-17 from the field, Doncic more than made up for it on the offensive end.
The Mavericks, however, had a big boost from the bench as Tim Hardaway Jr. went off for 19 points in the limited minutes he played for the team.
