Do not scratch your eyes. We are really witnessing Luka Doncic and Co. trying to defy history here. LeBron’s Cavaliers were the one to set a similar record (from 3-1 down) in 2016. Coming back to this Finals edition, nasty things were said by analysts and fans to Jason Kidd’s boys. Undeniably the Jays foxed Mark Cuban’s team in the first 3 games, who were trying to win their first ring since 2011, but honestly, it’s the ‘ring’ that people are going to remember. They’ll have a lot of time to fix their defensive issues in the trade market, but we are finally witnessing this series grow from the times everyone criticized Luka to be a defensive liability and Kyrie’s hot-and-cold days!

They won 122-84, with a 38-point lead. It’s the highest in 50 years! But this isn’t what we’re talking about. Did you notice how smooth Luka Doncic was tonight? Not one call, purely focusing on his game pay and momentum. He was using his elbows, his shoulder, and his hands, shoving people with whatever he could just to hold on to this ray of hope. This was a different Doncic we saw tonight, way different from what we saw in the previous 3 games. A lot of criticism was showered against him, especially in Game 3 for his tantrums and his temper. But in his defense, he’s just a 25 YO with a lot to lose. So, after gaining something in his hands, he finally addresses the hatred directed towards him in the last game in the post-game interview with ESPN.

All the Slovenian player had to say was: “I don’t pay much attention. There’s always going to be criticism no matter what. You know, I just stay focused and help my team win.” See his nonchalance?

Despite the odds being laid out against them, the Dallas Mavericks won Game 4 of the NBA Finals by a score of 122-84. Lead scorer Luka Doncic once again came out on top, leading the offensive effort with his 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. While Kyrie Irving had fallen short during the first two games of the Finals series, he also efficiently delivered by putting up a score of 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. With the crowd at the American Airlines Center cheering on, the home team was finally able to break their six-loss streak against the Boston roster. Through this win, the Mavericks live to fight another day.

Speaking out on what transpired during this historical matchup, the Slovenian player stated “We were locked in. Especially on the defensive end. We played with good pace. I’m here to help them in any way I can. We just gotta play like that”. By limiting the Celtics to below 100 points for the first time since their matchup against the Cavaliers in May, the Mavericks certainly brought out a unique display of defensive prowess during the matchup.

Slovenian Prime Minister hopes that Luka Doncic keeps his anger in check

The American Airlines Center played host to several world-renowned personalities, who came out to support the Dallas Mavericks during the crucial Game 3 and 4. It wasn’t that hard for attendees to catch a glimpse of football legend Sergio Ramos, who was seen donning Doncic’s iconic ‘77’ jersey and sitting courtside with his son Alejandro. Another individual who travelled thousand of miles to cheer on for the Mavericks lead scorer was Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.

Accompanied by influencer Tina Gaber, the 57-year-old was present during Game 3 as well. It was the same matchup in which Luka Doncic was fouled out with four minutes remaining in the final quarter. Knowing how the player’s alleged on-court temper is creating problems for him and his roster, the prime minister planned to share some wisdom with him during his dinner meet with the Mavericks held prior to Game 4.

“I’ll just tell him, Luka, be yourself,” said Golob. “Forget about everything else. Show your temper in a good manner, not by going to the referees but by showing to the other team what you can do.”

Doncic kept his cool this time, and it certainly paid off. For Game 5, he and his team will be returning back to TD Garden to play in the presence of Boston fans. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the player will manage to keep his cool amidst the opposition crowd and bring the Mavericks’ win record to 2-3 against the Celtics.
