A couple of weeks ago, everything seemed over for the Dallas Mavericks when Luka Doncic registered his name on the injury report, sidelined for at least a month. Unable to bear being separated from his on-court partner, Kyrie Irving too joined the list. Just like that, the fanbase was devastated. But it’s not quite over yet. A glimmer of hope has emerged with videos of the two surfacing on the internet.

Reporter Grant Afseth shared two clips showing Doncic and Kyrie practicing shots separately. Yes, Luka Doncic, on his own two feet, was hitting buckets. His strained left calf has certainly made it seem unimaginable.

The shock for the team came on Christmas Day as they went up against the Timberwolves. Apart from losing the game, Dallas also lost Doncic. Kyrie, on the other hand, is reportedly dealing with a bulging disc in his back and has been sideline for a week or two. But, these videos were enough to bring back the hopes of Dallas fans.

That’s actually not hard for Doncic, as the Slovenian finished with averages of 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists last season. And so far, in the 22 games he has appeared this season, he added 28.1-8.3-7.8 to his name. Considering his outstanding skills, he would be able to pick up the pace even after his return to the hardwood and end the season with massive numbers. The fan further predicted that the team would be able to bounce back following his return.

Someone stated, “My goat is coming back soon 🙏🙏” and other shared the same sentiment. Over the past six seasons of his NBA career, Doncic has gained a loyal fanbase who consider him to be the Greatest Of All Time. While the 5-time All-Star may not have secured a championship victory yet, his individual performances certainly establish him as a phenomenal player.

Meanwhile, another fan shared, “We were in shambles after watching that video of him last week but he seems fine.” Last week, a video went viral showing Doncic traveling on a scooter with his left knee resting on it. Fans felt that the 25-year-old was unable to walk and feared that this would be a season of suffering for the Mavericks. That certainly doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. In fact, after seeing the clips, fans have become more confident about his recovery and the team’s prospects.

“Is this means he will be back earlier than expected?” another fan asked. According to an earlier ESPN report, he was expected to miss about a month after his condition was re-evaluated. Since then, there haven’t been many updates on his return. This means that fans may have to wait until the end of the month unless there’s a miracle and Doncic makes an early comeback.

“I think he will be back for the Detroit game,” a fan wrote, hoping that Doncic will suit up for the last game of the month against the Pistons. For now, it’s all just speculation, as no official statement has been released.
