Is Kevin Durant's trolling a genius move to fuel his game, or just unnecessary drama?

It’s becoming evident, that Kevin Durant, even at 36 is far from declining anytime soon. Yet, those who don’t like him have found a new reason to despise him this season. Apparently, the Easy Money Sniper has been failing to hit the parlay expectations. LeBron James, another timeless star recently threw himself for a rebound to satisfy the fans. “I got one more and pointed at him to acknowledge that I was listening,” the King said.

Durant though isn’t riding that train.

In the weeks when he did play, the Suns forward shut down fans targeting him for not allowing them to cash. However, now even though he is suffering from a calf strain and out for two weeks, some fans may not have caught up. Don’t even put bread on @KDTrey but hes a generational bitch ass n***a. Stamp it fasho,” a fan let their anger run free.

All KD saw though was the fan trying to grab his attention. And he obliged, but not without adding his own spice to it. “This don’t sound right coming from somebody who clearly thirsty for my attention right now. I got u son, go give ish some clout real quick,” the second most decorated active scorer said in his ruthless retort.

With him being out with injury, Durant seems to have a great deal of time to interact with fans. This wasn’t his only notorious response. Durant went on a tweeting spiral. But the Slim Reaper’s choices had fans asking certain questions.

Does Kevin Durant only love trolling

As much flack as Kevin Durant gets for his social media antics, the 36-year-old relishes these interactions. He admits to feeling ‘joy’ when responding to his naysayers. Most recently, he even went on a public rant about ESPN’s face Stephen A. Smith over the analyst’s leadership remarks.

However, KD doesn’t claim to only surround himself with animosity. When attending a fan event with Anthony Edwards, he gave those present an insight into his social media activity.

“The whole point of having social media is to interact with people. So you follow me for a chance to maybe interact, so it depends on how I feel. If you troll, I’m going to troll back. If you show love, I’m going to show love back. I try to reciprocate energy as much as possible to give people more of an in-depth experience of who I am,” the Slim Reaper said.

But tracking his tweets, none of them seem to be interacting with any positive comments about him. It led to one fan asking him directly. Durant doesn’t want to overweight himself with love due to a side effect. “Too much love will cripple u,” he replied to the fan.

It might not be a preferred practice, but it seems to push Kevin Durant. Notably, since Smith’s criticism, KD led the Suns to a six-game win streak. In that stretch, he seemed more vocal than ever and strung together some outstanding clutch performances to keep the Suns unscathed.

If that’s how he continues to play, is there a reason for him to stop?
