Nothing is going right for the Golden State Warriors as they succumb to a five-game losing streak on Thursday night. The setback doesn’t end there, as both Stephen Curry and Draymond Green’s return to the court is still a long way to go. Besides that, the team’s offense forces Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins have had an underwhelming season so far, which definitely impacted the team gravely. And Gil’s Arena team was quick to recognize and dissect the issue.
The Dubs’ coach Steve Kerr made a surprising move by making the veteran point guard Chris Paul come off the bench for the first time in his career. Hence, the starting line-up involving Steph, Klay, and Wiggins was expected to provide the firepower in the front. While the Baby-faced Assassin dropped at an average of 30.7, the other two couldn’t keep up to even their personal best. So, what’s really happening here? What went wrong? Let’s find out.

The Warriors went off to a dream start, securing a 5-game winning streak. Fans and analysts almost declared the Dubs as the favorites of the tournament until the Bay Area team derailed off the track. Stephen Curry sustained a knee injury and Draymond Green brought up a 5-game suspension on himself.
At the same time, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins couldn’t step up and fill in the massive shoes of the 2x MVP. Notably, China Klay had a disappointing outing in the last outing against the OKC. He dropped 5 points with a poor 1/10 field goal.
On the latest episode of Gil’s Arena, the panel discussed the baggage that Wiggins has brought inside the team. The show’s headline titled, ‘The Warriors ARE WASTING Steph Curry’s MVP Season’ dissected the 28-year-old’s role in the team. One of the panel members said, “He’s been in a major slump this season. Data shows, the Warriors are playing much better when he isn’t on the floor.”
The team further spoke about poor shooting percentage, which is 4/26 from the arc. Amid suggestions on his expected roles, another member said, “He lost his identity”, reasoning his father’s major medical setback during the last season.
Moreover, the panel added that Wiggins is currently unaware of the role that the team is looking for. In fact, they felt the setbacks from last season affected his psyche.
