With all the drama and chaos that’s ensuing the Los Angeles Lakers, there’s no time to stop and take a breather. They lost the opportunity to progress in the playoffs series, fired their HC Darvin Ham, and are now actively looking for a new coach to lead the team to the next championship. Plus, there’s speculation of a trade going on around. But among all this shake-up that’s going on in the LA side, there’s another piece of information coming out – a Lakers PG is looking to sell his Calabasas house for a profit worth $1.4 million.

According to reports, Spencer Dinwiddie, who had signed with the Lakers back in February, has now put his Los Angeles home for sale. Dinwiddie acquired the property in 2022 for a reported price of $6.87 million. Now, the house is once again is up for sale. Only this time, the selling price is $8.2 million. While the approximate $1.4 million profit would be suitable for any other investor, the same may not be true for the Lakers player, whose one-year playing contract awards him almost the same amount.

Located in the Santa Monica Mountains region, the 7,269 square feet property boasts five bedrooms and seven bathhouses, all within the confines of a 1.4-acre lot. From wood doors and oak floors to Italian light fixtures, the basic amenities in itself exude class. The main bedroom, which measures over 1,000 square feet, boasts a walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and a vanity area. To help the NBA player maintain his physique, the house also has a gym and an infinity pool in the backyard area. If one manages to find such spacious confines within LA, then what else can one ask for?

While Dinwiddie was associated with the Dallas Mavericks in 2022, he was still a co-owner of his LA crypto-based company, Calaxy, at the time. Furthermore, Los Angeles is where he was born. The place that he calls his hometown. This may have been the reason for him to acquire the residence. The player still needs to speak out about his reason for selling the house.

Spencer Dinwiddie would “love to return” to the Lakers next season

One can speculate that Dinwiddie would be separating himself from his Santa Monica mansion since he would expect to be associated with another NBA team next season. However, if there is such a situation, then it is not something that would be the NBA player’s first choice.

A few weeks ago, after the Lakers’ final game against the Denver Nuggets, Dinwiddie engaged in a Q and A session with several media members. Up till that point, he had played in 28 games for the Lakers and averaged a score of 6.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Given that the player joined the team mid-season, he did not get the chance to get used to his new position fully. Therefore, he highlighted the hope that his situation would take an upward trajectory come next season.

“If the Lakers want me back, I’d love to be back,” said Dinwiddie. “Everything I said about this being a childhood dream and being able to play in my hometown, parents at every game, stuff like that, you couldn’t imagine anything better.”

While highlighting his inner desire, the 31-year-old also mentioned that he knows the final decision may not be entirely his own. Therefore, if the same occurs, he should be ready for the trade to take place as part of all the changes. With Dinwiddie putting up his house for sale, the question is: Has the same already occurred?
