In the heart of Hollywood, where stars are born and legends are made, but sometimes GOATs land up there too. Baseball also reigns supreme here. The LA Dodgers are shaping up to dominate like never before. With Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and the recent addition of Roki Sasaki, LA is set to boast an all-Japanese powerhouse in 2025. First, it was Ohtani who graced the Crypto.com Arena with his presence in December. Now it is Sasaki who has come to witness LeBron James with his own eyes.
Well, he not only did he witness greatness, but got a chance to touch royalty himself.
There aren’t many better ways than going to watch the iconic Lakers play when in LA. Before the game began, you’d see LeBron warming up, stretching, shooting the ball, but not this time. He delayed his pre-game routine to greet Roki Sasaki before going to the locker room. And you know ‘The King’ is the biggest Dodgers fan!

Like many newcomers to LA, the 20x All-Star has embraced the city’s love for the Dodgers. In 2020, when the Dodgers were playing the Rays, he was tweeting non-stop. It’s pretty typical of LA—everyone here gets swept up in the excitement.
The Lakers play the Wizards, which seems like an easy matchup for the former. Sasaki might just witness a win today, which is much required for the Lakers. After a tough loss to the Clippers, they are definitely looking for a win. Honestly, this is the kind of game they need right now to rebuild some momentum. Let’s see if they can lock in and get that W.
Just like Roki Sasaki took a break from baseball, LeBron did the same.
LeBron James shows his love for Ohio State
LeBron James took a quick detour to Atlanta on Monday to watch Ohio State face Notre Dame in the National Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. As a die-hard Buckeyes fan, thanks to his Akron roots, he wasn’t missing this game. The Lakers’ schedule lined up perfectly, allowing him to sneak in a visit before their Tuesday game against the Wizards.
James, along with his business partner, Maverick Carter, wasn’t the only star in the crowd. Actor Anthony Mackie, rapper Travis Scott, and even MLB’s Bryce Harper—who didn’t attend Ohio State—showed their support for the Buckeyes. It’s wild how these guys, despite not being Ohio alumni, are fully embracing the fandom.
Before the game, LeBron shared his thoughts on X: “Today’s keys to the game is making no mistakes, you have to win on all three sides of the ball, offense, defense and special teams. We take care of business that way, we win the game. Final score of the game, I got Ohio State 38, Notre Dame 17, let’s go!”

While James’ prediction wasn’t dead on, Ohio State did win 34-23, clinching their first National Championship in a decade.
LeBron’s connection to Ohio State runs deep. On the New Heights podcast, he shared, “I would have definitely thought about that. My best friend at the time Sian Cotton went off to Ohio State on a full ride. So that would’ve been super dope. I could’ve roomed with him, played football during the fall, and basketball during the winter and spring. That would’ve been dope.”
