Following Paul George‘s departure from LA, the Clippers now find themselves in a tough spot. Kawhi Leonard is dealing with injuries, as the Klaw was brought back from the Team USA practice last week. On the other hand, James Harden has been occasionally consistent with his game and Russell Westbrook is still coming off the bench. Ever since the 2020 postseason, Leonard has not played at his 100% in the playoffs. Well, it’s not the Clippers didn’t try building a team around Leonard and PG, they did all they could. However, there hasn’t been much progress.
Recently, former NBA player, Kendrick Perkins talked about the Clippers not being a threat in the West. Not only that, but he believes that the franchise should consider trading Kawhi Leonard. While there may be other critics who believe the same, this particular clip was posted on Instagram. What happened next left fans in shock. Leonard’s teammate, Westbrook liked the very post leaving fans haywired.

Well, in the meanwhile if we don’t consider Russ’ activity, Perkins may have a point. The Harden, PG, and Kawhi trio didn’t work. And nor did the powerful duo along with useful assets back in the bubble. Is it about time that the Clippers part way with the Klaw? For starters, this will involve a lot of risk. The Clippers were quite on the brink after the CP3 and Blake Griffin era. There was a brief amount of time when Lou Williams led the team, but PG and Leonard’s addition was meant to be something else.
If the Clippers do consider trading Kawhi, they will have to make it worth it. The front office will have to bring not one, but multiple assets in exchange for Leonard. They still have Harden, but then again, he isn’t as consistent as he used to be, though still a threat. Letting their primary forward go would be a crucial decision, but for the most part, it seems pretty optimal. But would they also consider trading Russell Westbrook after what he did?
Fans could not hold it after Russ liked the Kawhi Leonard trade rumors

Yes, Russ is a bench player, but after this series of events, he might get traded this summer. “Russ like this“, “Russell Westbrook liked“, “Westbrook liked this video too 😂“, “even westbrook liked this post 😭“, were some of the reactions from fans. The fans who follow Westbrook on Instagram pointed out Russ’ likes quite quickly. Other fans agreed with Perkins, wanting Leonard out of LA. “Yes it’s time for the Clippers to rebuild”, “Leonard is no longer a Top 10 Player … trade him”, “Clippers need a rebuild”, “Oh yes but any takers”, were some reactions in regards to Kawhi’s possible trade.
Now, Westbrook is a productive player coming off the bench. The guard does his job the best. He averaged 11.1 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 22 minutes per game. Not only that but he shot over 45% from the field. There is no denying that Russ has done his part of the job. Numbers-wise, yes, the Clippers can look to trade Leonard and bring in a decent scorer. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Leonard is an injury-prone player. On the other hand, the Clippers have been hungry for a title run for quite a long.
