Los Angeles Clippers guard Paul George has been the talk of the NBA community as a top candidate for trade in the offseason. Though there were rumors that Paul would stay in Los Angeles, there is no contract extension confirmation from his side. If the Clippers don’t meet his contract demands, the potential team for George is the Warriors. However, the Clippers might also be ready with a substitution for the Clippers star George if he opts out.

As per Bulls insider KC Johnson, the Clippers can sign DeMar DeRozan if Paul George signs somewhere else. It is one of the most potential rumors with the possibility of becoming true as George can go for the GSW, as per NBA insider Evan Sidery. “If Paul George is willing to leave, they would like to be an option for him, “ Evan posted on X today. Apparently, the Warriors are on the lookout for keeping a star alongside Stephen Curry if Klay Thompson leaves the team. According to Legion Hoops, the four-year max extension that Paul George is longing for from the Clippers can be offered from the Warriors’ side.

George has got a $48 million player option this summer, which he can utilize to get leverage if he does not move to the Dubs. Since that is not the situation for now, he might be the perfect partner for the Warriors to run alongside the Splash brothers. On the other hand, DeRozan might pick up the place when George leaves LA. However, DeRozan has made it clear that he would like to join the Chicago Bulls despite being a free agent this summer. It will be worth watching how the Bulls’ forward responds to the situation. Nevertheless, the point worth noticing is how Paul George can be an asset to the Dubs.

Why the Warriors are lurking around Paul George?

As per NBA insider, the Golden State Warriors might be so interested in the Clippers guard that they might have to initiate a multi-team trade to land him on the roster. The most feasible way to accomplish this is to trade Chris Paul, as he is expected to make $30 million in base salary this year. If he clears the space, the Dubs can get a star like George. Moreover, George’s unison with Curry and Klay Thompson might ignite the hope of another championship dream.

Paul will fit well with the shooting dynamics of Klay and Steph Curry as a wing player. The Splash brothers can draw attention while George shoots from space. If this combination lands, it will surely going to trouble the teams in the next season. There are even chances that the Subs might restore their lost glory with this potential roster. Moreover, George also has the capability to defend the rim, relieving the defenders on the other side of the court.
