Is Paul George too sensitive to be a true NBA superstar? What do you think?

After signing with the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason for a four-year, $211.6 million max contract, he has ultimately opened a revelation from Paul George’s end that is taking over the internet as he indirectly ridiculed the team while recalling fan interactions in Los Angeles. Interacting on his Podcast P, PG 13 revealed recently that the fans in LA did not seem affable to him as a Clippers player which he could have got as a Lakers player. Apparently, it pointed out the people did not count on Clippers much, and George himself agreed with the fans. This change of tone has received criticism from the Clippers in his recent appearance.

While speaking on the ‘Clips N Dip: A Clippers Podcast,’ NBA writer Tom Azarly reacted to Paul George‘s stance after leaving the Clippers, “I don’t know why you would burn the bridge on your way out? …I am surprised that he went out and just said that in the podcast.”

As Azarly proceeded, he addressed how the Clippers admitted George to make their roster an A-team. And it did as the LA Clippers reached the playoffs four times during his stint in LA and historically reached the Western Conference Finals in 2021, playing against the Phoenix Suns. Rather, his postseason performance dropped from 26.9 [2020-21] to 19.5 in the last postseason. “You know what the situation is here in LA….You were acquired to change that to become the A-team, “ the Clippers insider gave an earful to the now Sixers’ two-way guard.

“I don’t know, those comments scream insecurity to me. You’re telling me you let a couple of Lakers fans kind of dissuade you or mess with you mentally like why was that even on your mind,” Azarly further added to his shaming for Paul George on his Clippers remarks.

At the end of the conversation, as Azarly was ending his comment, he said, “Just don’t sh** on people on the way out, you know, fans or people who are trying to get the organization where they want to be. Just don’t talk too much on your way out and burn those bridges and make it look bad.”

Have an interesting take?

Why did Paul George feel like on the B-team while being on the Clippers in LA?

When Paul George revealed the reciprocation from fans after he spent quite a team at Clippers, he was quoted as, “‘You should’ve been a Laker.’ I’m on the B team. That’s how the vibe and the love felt.” Even though he did not directly say it, the incident particularly pointed to the dismissal of the Clippers. Since it is imperative to check what one is saying, it seems George got too honest with his feelings as being a historic team Los Angeles Lakers always surpassed the Clippers in the league.

Rather, the Clippers are a new team that got indicted in the NBA in the year 1970. Also, most of the LA contains Lakers fans, as they made it to the playoffs four times in George’s five seasons in Los Angeles. On top of that, they reached the 2023 Western Conference Finals and won the 2020 NBA championship, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading their winning juggernaut.

That’s what might have hurt Paul George while he was on the Clippers, as he and Kawhi could not achieve the same feat together. But they did bring their team far, though not enough to make it to the Finals. Still, was it legit of PG to pass such comments on the roster? Let us know in the comments.
