It was a night of epic comebacks in the NBA. Obviously, the biggest story was the return of Lonzo Ball after 1006 days of being sidelined from a knee injury and 3 major surgeries. But in the same game, Julius Randle also made his return from the season-ending shoulder surgery he underwent earlier this year. Unfortunately for the new Minnesota hooper, his highly awaited debut for the Wolves was overshadowed by Lonzo’s sparkly return as the point guard shocked everyone with his amazing performance.

Despite checking into an NBA game after two and a half years, it looked like Lonzo Ball had never left. Starting off with a smooth corner three, the player showed that he could still hoop at a high level. And he finished the game with 10 points in only fifteen minutes. More importantly, he led his team to a two-point victory against the mighty Wolves.

Meanwhile, Julius Randle, who was playing his first game in 8 months, also looked in great form during his comeback performance. Making half of his shot attempts, he scored an impressive 15 points along with 6 rebounds. Yes, it was his first appearance in the Wolves uniform. But he displayed great chemistry with his new teammates, dishing out 5 assists.

However, that was not enough to get his team the win as Lonzo’s heroic comeback stole the show. Moreover, Ball even one-upped Randle during one crucial play when he blocked the former Knicks star’s shot attempt, sending the crowd into a frenzy!

Sure enough, fans loved every bit of his return because no player has ever come back from a cartilage transplant surgery. That means he has beaten the odds with his hard work and perseverance to get to this point. However, that does not nullify Randle’s journey.

Julius Randle “very excited” for his return and was “ready for whatever”

It was back in January that Randle dislocated his shoulder during a game. Since then, a lot has happened in his life as he got traded soon after recovering from his shoulder surgery. But that’s all in the past and his only focus has been to get back on the court, as the hooper recently said in an interview, “8 months. Hurt January to October, 8-9 months. Yeah, it’s been a minute. I’m very excited.”

Lonzo Ball's return: A comeback story for the ages or just a flash in the pan?

When he was asked if he would be on minute restrictions to start his Wolves tenure, he jokingly said, “You know where I’m coming from.” Obviously, he was referring to Tom Thibodeau’s system, which is famous for overexerting the star players and Randle was a key part of it during his Knicks tenure.

“I’m ready for whatever. That’s how I prepared my summer. So, whatever Finch need from me, I’ll give it to him.” the forward remarked. Randle claimed that he would continue to be dominant inside the paint like he had always been, “I’m gonna continue to attack the basket as long as I can. So yeah, I ain’t worried about it.”
