Lonzo Ball is set to make a return to the court after a two-year absence. The Chicago Bulls star has struggled with injuries throughout his career. He was regarded as one of the top prospects back when he was drafted in 2017. However, things haven’t gone the way anyone would’ve thought and Lonzo has never been able to find consistency. Lonzo picked up a knee injury that required surgery as a result of which he’s been on the sideline for two seasons running.

Lonzo Ball is on the verge of a historic comeback after an extended absence from the game. Following a knee cartilage transplant, which he underwent to address a persistent knee injury, the point guard is showing promising signs of recovery. According to reporter Evan Sidery of Forbes, Ball has been steadily increasing his workload as he gears up for his return.

Sidery highlighted that “Lonzo Ball continues to respond well to an increasing workload as he prepares for his unprecedented comeback.” If he successfully returns to the court, he will become the first professional athlete to do so after a knee cartilage transplant, making his comeback truly one-of-a-kind.

Following Lonzo’s historic return to the NBA. The Bulls are also figuring out ways to fit the star into their plans. After being injured for so long, the Bulls will have to make space for the 26-year-old in the upcoming season. As things stand sources say Ball is in line to play a key role in the Bulls’ second unit. Which translates to him being in the rotation. It’s as expected because he’s coming from a long break. Additionally, as part of his return plan, Ball is anticipated to have a minutes restriction imposed by the Bulls’ medical staff. It’s also worth noting the abundance of guards on the Chicago roster, including Josh Giddey, whose arrival may complicate Ball’s role, as he plays a similar position.

Lonzo Ball’s main goal this season, apart from getting back to the court, should also be avoiding any mishaps. He should be focused on getting his consistency back. Bulls fans seem excited to see Lonzo back in action. Let’s hear what Lonzo has to say about his historic return to basketball.
