“Success isn’t owned, it’s leased. And the rent is due every day.” Having spent over two decades in the league, LeBron James’s success story is a pinnacle that so many aspiring players can only dream of reaching. As the player highlighted, however, to get to the top requires an unusual level of hard work and skill development. There are otherwise very few ways to make oneself stand out from the crowd. As an athlete ages, the priority also shifts towards maintaining the body’s physicality. LeBron James has a whole biohacking routine in place to ensure that, which allows him to dominate even with being just a few weeks shy of his 40th birthday.

Earlier today, an X user broke down the Los Angeles Lakers star’s regimen. From avoiding artificial drinks and fried foods to focusing more on a carbs-based diet, using compound exercises made of certain reps and lighter weights, the 39-year-old goes beyond how an average individual takes care of his physicality. The process isn’t an easy one, however, and a person could experience pain and soreness after a fruitful workout session.

Fortunately, LeBron’s seven-figure biohacking routine also includes an essential cooldown phase, beginning with an ice bath. This method, often used to manage post-game and exercise-related inflammation, provides both physical and mental benefits. As noted by Ben Smith, ice baths aid in pain relief, reduce muscle soreness, and even enhance mood and alertness.

Ice baths are a popular recovery tool among professional athletes, helping them manage post-training fatigue and maintain peak performance. Cristiano Ronaldo, another top athlete who continues to excel despite his age, also incorporates ice baths into his routine. Recently, the 39-year-old Al Nassr forward posted a picture on his official X account, sitting in an ice bath with the caption, “Recovery game strong! I try to use the ice bath as frequently as possible to help reset and recover my body for each upcoming game!!” While promoting WHOOP, the post offered a glimpse into Ronaldo’s recovery methods as part of his intense regimen.

LeBron James may recognize that his time in the league is limited, with only 31 NBA players having played past the age of 40. Nat Hickey holds the record at 45 years and 363 days, yet LeBron’s rigorous biohacking regimen seems to be keeping him in prime form. This season, he continues to lead the Lakers, averaging 22.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 7.2 assists across six games. As biohacking gains popularity for helping athletes maintain peak physical health, LeBron’s dedication to these methods appears to be influencing his family, too.

In February, LeBron’s wife, Savannah, shared a story on her official Instagram account, which had around 2.4 million followers at the time (now 2.5 million). In the post, she showcased herself receiving a solution she referred to as “Hydration Station” through an IV drip. She appeared unfazed and cheerful while her daughter, Zhuri, sat beside her, looking away from the camera. Savannah also added a caption that read, “Biohack me please,” along with a winking emoji, highlighting her embrace of biohacking alongside her husband.

Savannah may have been participating in IV therapy, which involves delivering nutrients and water directly into the bloodstream to enhance bioavailability. Like LeBron, she places a strong emphasis on health and wellness. Having already explored treatments such as intermittent fasting, detoxification, and juicing, biohacking appears to be a new addition to her regimen.
