The San Francisco Ballet’s opening night gala brought its usual mix of glamour, high society, art, and dazzling fashion. Ayesha Curry added star power as the gala’s honorary chair, helping shine a brighter spotlight on the ballet’s 92nd celebration. It might catch you off guard, but she’s a refreshingly real ambassador for the world of ballet.
The timing of the Ballet season kicking off alongside San Francisco Art Week had folks talking—it was one of those “good problems” for a change this year. For others, it felt like a hopeful sign that the city’s cultural heartbeat is finally getting stronger after those rough post-pandemic days.
In an emotional appeal to bring back San Francisco’s cultural roots, Ayesha Curry touches on the importance of the arts in the city’s history. “When we think about the history of the city, it was founded on the arts,” she said.

And while she was emphasizing on arts we got an update about her daughters as well. Her daughters Riley’s and Ryan’s study of dance made it clear that their passion has deeply influenced her perspective.

Seeing them develop in this artistic discipline has brought her full circle, reminding her how essential the arts once were to San Francisco’s identity. She goes on to acknowledge the city’s rise in tech, stating, “While I love tech, I think somewhere along the line, that became the shape and identity of what San Francisco is.” as reported by sfchronicle.com. In this, Curry argues that the city’s rapid embrace of technology has overshadowed the arts, which were once at its heart.
Mrs. Curry attending Galas is nothing new. She has been gracing these events for a long time.

In November 2024, Baby2Baby Gala was organized. If you’re not already familiar with it, let me fill you in on Baby2Baby. This non-profit organization has one mission: to provide essential items like diapers, clothing, and other necessities to children in need. The goal is simple—ensure that every child gets the basics they deserve.
It was a major win, raising an incredible $17 million to support mothers and babies in need across the U.S. The star-studded event brought together top celebrities, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
Ayesha Curry, who you know, attended and shared a few photos on her Instagram. She expressed how amazing it was to see everyone come together for such a good cause: “Had an amazing time @baby2baby this weekend. It’s always so inspiring seeing everyone come together year after year for the greater good of the community.”

What stood out, though, was how the funds raised would directly benefit families in need. Ayesha made sure to shout out Baby2Baby’s founders, Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein, for their continuous hard work. “This weekend’s fundraising will provide millions of essentials for millions of babies and families across the globe. Kelly and Norah, you’ve done it again! We are so grateful for you and your team.”
Not only did the event raise a record-breaking amount, but Ayesha, a busy mom of four, still made it a priority to be there and show her support.
