When it looked like Bayless was finally warming up to LeBron James, he returned with a new dig at the King. This is just hours after he praised the All-Time scoring champion for his 39000 points milestone. LeBron James posted a commemorative photo on Instagram to celebrate his feat, but it looks like Skip Bayless didn’t take kindly to the Akron native’s self-love. It is no secret that the Oklahoma native is critical of LeBron James.
Though he has mentioned on multiple occasions that there is no hatred, certain digs and jabs might make one question his statement.

In his tweet, he brings back his usual Michael Jordan comparison, saying “Why would he even acknowledge Jordan? Because LeBron knows deep down Jordan is the Only 1, the far and away GOAT, the baddest man who ever laced ’em up.”
After passing 39,000, LeBron posted "Top 2 and I'm not 2." Why would he even acknowledge Jordan? Because LeBron knows deep down Jordan is the Only 1, the far and away GOAT, the baddest man who ever laced 'em up.

Skip seems to be employing a hot-and-cold approach to James. Prior to this, he had congratulated the man in question for his “eclipsing” achievement (9:46 AM). Just two minutes before, he takes a dig at King James fans for their apparent blind loyalty.
And then, three minutes after the congratulatory tweet, he posts a subtle jab for one of LeBron’s weaknesses – free throws.
Imagine how many points LeBron would've scored by now if he were a great free-throw shooter.

It would almost seem like Skip Bayless was making up for all the praises and compliments he showered by taking a detour back to critique. The latest Jordan-related tweet would be the third in back-to-back Twitter posts.
But this wouldn’t be his most outrageous one.
Bayless’ most infamous comments about LeBron
The one that probably tops the list would be his 2012 comments about LeBron not being a first Ballot Hall of Famer. His co-host was Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take and hence ensued a heated discussion. Skip believed that Tiago Splitter was more of a First Ballot Hall of Famer than LeBron could be.

Of course, you can imagine the kind of reactions he would have gotten from fans about this. The second one would be the Batman and Robin comparison. This happened in 2010 on the ESPN2 show ‘1st and 10’, when his stint with the Cavs was on rocky ground. It also provided Skip with the perfect opportunity.
He compared the King’s talents to that of Batman but said that the intangibles were closer to Robin. Therefore, his verdict was that LeBron James was more “Robin” than “Batman”; “Pippen” than “Jordan”. Of course, it does not bother LBJ at all.

This won’t be the first time he’s had to deal with haters and critiques. Nor will it be the last. As far as James is concerned, he will probably continue to do what he did – ignore. But that is not going to shut Skip’s mouth. In fact, Skip might very well be the Joker to Bron’s Batman.
